medusa, did you ever love?

did the gods stop your heart?

did aphrodite take any pity on you?

athena, did she bless or curse you?

did you hate or thank the gods?

i know you have been hurt but,

i too know the pain is still there,

you turn life into stone with a gaze.

dear medusa, will you let me love you?

you that has been hurt and slain.

though i am but a maiden that wishes you well,

a worthless mortal soul unconnected to you,

yet i continue to sense a strange in me as

i gaze into your immaculate image,

imagining what it must feel to have power,

did it feel powerful or were you trapped?

trap me and i shall bow down to you power,

i may forever turn to stone but

my heart will forever hold you dear.
