—————————————————2 Weeks Later
❄️Agnarr's Point Of View❄️
It's been two weeks since the death of father and becoming acting King. I must admit it is much harder than I expected, thankfully I still have mother to help me.
But that's not the real reason I'm struggling with being King. It's the royal council. Due to my young age they don't take me seriously.
"We should send out blankets, food and fresh water to the people of Arendelle who are living in poverty in preparation for the upcoming winter" I state from the head of the council table overlooking all the much older men in front of me.
"Your Majesty, we simply can't waste valuable supplies to those who can't sustain an income. It's ridiculous" Replies one of the members of the court in disgust to my proclamation whilst others nod their heads in agreement.
'Of course they are against the idea, only thing these men care about is power, money and their reputation'
"No. I refuse to just watch innocent people suffer the harshest of winter and by doing absolutely nothing, these people are part of the Kingdom. As King, I must protect every one of them" I say standing suddenly and slamming both my hands on the end of the table with anger seething throughout my body.
"Of course, as you wish your Majesty" States one of the members as all of the councillors bow their heads in respect
"I trust this will be achieved a week before Winter. Now, if you'll please excuse me. I have other matters to attend to" I say with a stern look, then turning to walk out of the door into the long hallway.
'Phew' I breathe out. 'I've never lost my temper before..like ever. But it did make them listen to me, maybe I should become more strict like Father. Then they'll take me more seriously'
Making my way down the long corridors of the castle, I open the large double doors to the castle library.
Walking to the antique bookshelf, I climb the ladder and grab an old leather covered book. Stepping down from the ladder I turn around and come face to face with my Mother.
"Mother! You scared me, don't you know it's not good to sneak up on people" I laugh looking at her to which she just smiles and chuckles
"And where do you think your going?" She asks
"Nowhere" I say looking away and hiding the book behind me
"You can't fool me dear, your going to the tree on the hill to read that book your hiding, aren't you?" She says knowingly
Looking down I just nod my head
"It was the council, wasn't it" She says lifting my chin up so I'm looking into her eyes as concern fills her face
"Yes. They don't treat me like a King, they all just think I'm a kid playing dress up"
"They will in time dear, your father had trouble with them when he was your age. Just always speak for what you believe in"
"Thank you Mother" I smile and give her a hug
"Now go get yourself some fresh air, I'll be expecting you back by 4pm sharp" She says smiling breaking off the hug and making her way out the doors.
