A Tale From The Past

~Chapter XI~

❄️Third Person Point Of View❄️

As night fell the blue haze of day lifted to reveal the stars. Street lamps were lit, throwing garish pools of orange onto the cobblestone streets.

The sound of music echoed throughout the corridors of the castle. Nobles from across the seas dressed in their lavish ball attire, dance to the beautiful melody.

Hiding behind one of the tall red curtains stood a young girl. Her chocolate coloured hair put in an elegant side braid with tiny purple flowers mixed throughout her hair. Her gown was a mix of beautiful purples which flowed to the ground below. Simple makeup added to her beauty, with a light purple eyeshadow added with the little eyeliner and soft pink lips.

Another young girl walks towards her. Her long blonde hair was transformed into an elegant bun with the signature sunflower clip added in, she wore a simple off the shoulder yellow gown.

"What's the point of coming Iddy, if you plan to hide the whole night" chuckles the girl as she looks at her friends shyness.

"I happen to like hiding, besides I don't fit in Lena, I feel too overdressed and people with begin staring. Remember this was only meant for nobles, we are commoners. Someone is going to notice"

"Believe me no one takes notice at these events. Besides, we dress the part and were invited by the King so stop your worrying. You don't want to upset Agnarr by not showing yourself"

Groaning, Iduna rolls her eyes before slowly walking out from behind the curtain before looking around at the other higher status people in the room.

"He's not here yet"

"They'll be announcing him soon don't worry" Lena giggles as she smirks towards Iduna who in return just pushes her arm a little.

"So.. we just going to stand here or-"

"Wait, you just reminded me of something, I met another girl around our age here along with her partner. Come on I'll introduce you to them!"

Before she could protest, Lena grabs Iduna's hand pulling her deeper into the crowd of people towards two figures at the food table.

"Arianna!" Lena calls out causing Arianna to turn around along with the other person she was accompanied with.

"Lena! I see you got Iduna to come out of the shadows" Giggles Arianna as she smiles towards Iduna.

"Against my wishes" Mumbles Iduna causing the group to laugh

"It's nice to finally meet you Iduna. I'm Prince Frederic of Corona and this is my beautiful lady Arianna. Agnarr had already told us that you might be coming tonight, he's going to be so happy when he sees you. All he's done all afternoon is wonder where you were"

"It's a pleasure to meet you both. I can't say Agnarr has mentioned you to me, how do you guys know him?" Asks Iduna

"Agnarr is my cousin, his mother is sisters with my mother" Frederic smiles as he wraps his arm around Arianna's waist.

The four new friends continue talking before the music stops and Kai is seen stepping up towards the throne as all the guests turn towards the front.

"Her Majesty, Queen Rita of Arendelle" Walking out from a side door the Queen walks towards the middle of the throne smiling as she prepares to give a small speech.

"Welcome esteemed guests to Arendelle. Many of you know King Runeard's and my son, Prince Agnarr"

"King Runeard, may he rest in peace" voices the people in the ballroom before the Queen continues talking

"Will you please raise your glasses in celebration of Prince Agnarr's 15th birthday" turning her head she nods towards Kai.

"Presenting his Royal Highness, King Agnarr of Arendelle"

Stepping out from behind the side curtain, Agnarr approaches the throne next to his mother. Wearing his Royal attire and the golden crown on his head he gives a tiny smile as the guests clap their hands and raise their glasses.

After the introduction was finished, the music began to play again as many went to dance while others went to greet Agnarr and his mother who still stood in front of the throne.

"You should go talk to him" Lena nudges

"He's busy, I don't want to disturb him" Iduna says before looking towards Agnarr who was gazing around the ballroom as if he was trying to find someone.

"I think he is looking for you" Arianna giggles

"I doubt that" Iduna softly says while rubbing her arms

"Fred and I need to go introduce ourselves, you should come with" Arianna smiles as Lena starts to smirk from behind Iduna knowing what she was planning.

"I don't know"

"Just go Iddy, say happy birthday and come right back. Easy!" Lena speaks up

"If you do it, I'll send you some flower seeds from Corona" Arianna negotiates holding out her hand

"And if I don't?"

"You have to ask that gentleman over there to dance with you" Lena smirks as she gestures towards an older man

"Traitor. Fine! You've got yourself a deal" Iduna gives up shaking hands with Arianna to settle the deal.

"Perfect! lets go" Arianna smiles as she loops her arm with Frederic's and the three make their way to the throne at the end of the ballroom with Iduna keeping her head down with evidence of a slight pink beginning to dust her cheeks as they walk past others towards Agnarr.

Arriving at the throne Iduna finally looks up as her ocean blue eyes make eye contact with a pair of stunning emerald green.

(A/N ~ Just some little notes :) so Frederic is 16, Arianna is 14, like Iduna and Lena. Also, Prepare for some fluffiness in the next chapter)
