(Quick A/N ~ I'm not entirely happy with this chapter as I just rushed it but I will be coming back to it and redoing it eventually once I have planned out the next few chapters. Also credit to the artist for this awesome artwork :)
❄️Agnarr's Point Of View❄️
Weeks have passed since Iduna and I admitted our feelings for each other and I've never been happier. It's now the beginning of Autumn as the colours change to beautiful oranges and reds.
I was currently reading the book Mother got for me as a birthday gift a few months back and was rather intrigued in the love story between a human and mermaid.
Turning the page, I notice a few leaves fall from the tree I was sitting under fall onto the ground in front of me. Not really taking much notice of why the leaves fell I continued reading my book until I heard a soft giggle followed by a sudden voice yell,
"Boo!"
"Iduna!" I breathe out placing a hand over my heart to settle my near heart attack. Looking up towards her I noticed she was upside down and hanging off one of the branches with a smirk plastered across her face.
"What are you reading your Majesty?" She asks looking towards the book cover
"Just some new Danish author"
"What is it about?"
Looking up at her, I place my book to the side and stand up while smirking at her and crossing my arms.
"How about you come down and say sorry for scaring me half to death"
Hearing her giggle and roll her beautiful blue eyes she jumps down landing in front of me. Reaching out I place a strand of her brown hair behind her ear.
"Okay.. I'm sorry for scaring you, your Royal Highness" She mocks as she looks up at me
"After that sarcastic comment I think I deserve more now"
"What do you mean, you deserve more?" I could tell she was getting confused by the way her cute little freckled nose scrunched up.
"What about a proper greeting?" I smirk as I lean my face in much closer to hers as I notice her face turn a dark shade of red before she quickly recovers and giggles while replying,
"Anything for you my King" Closing the gap between us, Iduna places a quick soft kiss on my lips.
"Now I forgive you" I chuckle as we both walk back over to the tree and sit down as Iduna lays her head on my shoulder
"You going to tell me what it's about or leave me to forever wonder?"
"It's about a young mermaid who saves a prince from a shipwreck and falls in love with him. However she can't be with him as she is a mermaid, so she goes to the evil sea witch and asks to become human but the sea witch will only grant her wish in exchange for her voice. And that's all I've read up to at the moment"
"Sounds interesting. You'll have to tell me how it ends"
"Or I can let you read it after me" I smile looking down at her
"Really? Thank you" She beams looking up at me but quickly narrows her eyes at something
"What? Is there something on my face?" I ask as I begin rubbing my face
"No, nothing is on your perfect face" she chuckles before she continues while reaching one of her hands into my hair
"Your hair is starting to look more like your Mothers. It has an orange colour to it now"
"Mother did say my hair did look like it was changing colour but I didn't believe her as I can't notice anything different"
"I like it" Iduna smiles pulling her hand back into her lap as she returns to resting her head on my shoulder as we both enjoy a moment to ourselves as the soft breeze surrounds us.
"Do you believe in mermaids or anything magical?" Iduna questions looking out into the distance
"I do actually. I believe in anything that's magical or even thought to be a myth, like trolls for instance" I respond closing my eyes gently
"Trolls?"
"My Grandmother used to always tell me stories of these magical trolls that lived high in the mountains of Arendelle when I was younger. They had the abilities to heal those injured though no one has ever seen a troll which makes people believe it's just a myth. But it has been said that somewhere in the castle library holds a secret book and map that can lead a person to the hidden location of the Trolls"
"We should try and find that book to see if it really is just a myth or if it is indeed true"
Humming in response I asked her the same question, "How about you? Do you believe in magic?"
"I've seen magic in my past before I came to Arendelle, but the last time I saw the magic it turned into a tragic event that made me lose my family"
"I'm sorry Iduna, I didn't mean to make you relive your memories" I speak softly as I gently caress her arm in comfort
"It's alright, I did say I would open up eventually. Even if it were just small memories"
Both of us remained quiet after our small conversation until Iduna spoke up again.
"Have you told your Mother about us?"
"I didn't have to tell her. She figured it out as I couldn't stop smiling unexpectedly after I'd been so horribly for that whole week" I chuckle as I hear her soft laugh as well
"She doesn't mind?"
"Of course not! She loves you, she even told me she sees you as a daughter and would love for you to visit the castle more often"
"I'd be honoured to spend more time with her and you as well of course"
Chuckling softly I wrap my arms tighter around Iduna pulling her into my chest as she wrapped her arms around my neck smiling at me as we just enjoyed the moment together until we both had to leave to our homes.
