Chapter 01. Kit!

Song above: Yellow Submarine *SONG IS SOMEWHAT LOUD SO BE CAREFUL* (I was just listening to this while I wrote this chapter, it has nothing to do with this chappie but it's cute and quirky, like Kit).

"Kit."

Groan.

"Kit!"

Groan.

"Kit, get up you lazy kitten!"

He calls me a lazy kitten, even though he weighs wayyyy more than me. I open my eyes to see my brother floating in the air before me, turquoise eyes staring at me with stubbornness.

"Well then, good morning to you too, cat." I reply to my brother in my thick British accent.

He floated closer to my bed, clicking his tongue in a motherly way. "Sassy one, aren't you?"

"Fat one, aren't you?" I replied with a cool tone.

He just but on his signature smile and said,"Well, darling sister, we have things to do, people to save, pranks to put in motion and so on!"

Groaning I replied,"Alright brother, but do give me ten ticking minutes to get ready!"

Whistling lightly, he nodded his head a flew his chubby fluffy kitten body out the door.

Let me just explain some things real quick:

1) My brother is the Cheshire Cat (the realistic one from the Alice in wonderland movie).
2) I am his sister, the Cheshire kitten, but most people call me kit.
3) Our mother was a cat while my father a human (weird and disturbing to think about, I know), therefore my brother came out full cat while I came out part cat. Basically, I have a mostly human body except for my tail, ears, my hair is cat hair, and my eyes look just like my brothers. Also, my fingers have claws instead of nails.
4) My mother and father were both masters of magic, so me and my brother both exhibit magical qualities.

I roll myself out of bed in the most elegant way possible (sarcasm) and stumble over to the wardrobe resting by my oak wood desk. Throwing open the two doors to the century old closet, I shuffle through clothes until I find the perfect outfit for the day.

I pull out a simple white lace top with a black undershirt attached to it and a white collar, along with a pair of khaki riding pants. Then I slip on my favorite pair of brown leather boots, lace them up, fold them down just a bit, and then zip them up. Before leaving my room, I throw on my lovely overcoat, which has a striking resemblance to the Mad Hatters overcoat. Then I march into my bathroom, sitting down at the vanity table and fixing my overall appearance.

I quickly comb through my black raven hair, lightly fluffing it so it would be messy, just how I like it. Then I make sure my cat ears are not trapped under any fur, tie my checkered bow tie into place, and spritz on some perfume. For one moment, I observe myself in the mirror.

My turquoise eyes with sharp pupils stare back at me intently, and I realize how pale my skin is and how it contrasts with my hair. Sometimes I regret being half cat half human because I look so different from everyone else.

It can be a blessing and a curse, I suppose.

Never mind that. Shaking my head a bit, I jump from the chair and quickly walk out of the bathroom, enjoying the noise of my boots clicking on the wood floor in my home.

"Well, you sure took more than ten minutes. Tick tock, darling sister,"My brother purred. I turned around to my brother as he hovered above the flannel couch in our small living space.
