Chapter 23

John's P.O.V.

"Get under the bed" Louis said pushing me down from my head and I hesitated stepping away. I gave him a wild stare before speaking.

"Are you crazy? We can't hide from her?!" She was a bloody ghost. She probably knows our pulse rate by now.

"She wants to play John. Let her play." I took another step back confused out of my mind to what the heck he was saying right now. I didn't have time to question him as he walked over to the closet.

"Don't leave me" I pulled him back and whispered as loud as I could.

"Trust me okay?" He said grabbing my hand and kneeling down in front of me. "Get under the bed John"

"Oh Travis?" I jumped at the sound of her voice getting closer. Louis motioned me to get under the bed before lifting the covers himself. I quickly slithered into the carpet under the bed and sat there hugging my legs and burrying my head in my knees. I noticed Louis' feet disappearing into the closet.

"I know you're in here" Annie's voice was so close. I was positive. I pressed my lips against my knee to make sure I didn't make a sound or a sniffle. Suddenly the door banged open against the wall and I could see a pair of yellow feet standing at the door. Breath caught up in my throat with the wanting to scream my lungs out. She took few unsteady steps into the room, her long nails tapping against the floor with every step.

Flashback~

"What are you painting?" Annie poked her head down from the bunk bed to what I was doing sitting up on the bunk below.

"Infinity" I said looking up at her.

"What's that?" She questioned before jumping from the top bunk and climbing up to mine.

"I saw it in a book. When two people are ment to be together forever, this is the sign that proves that" I said clearly memorising how the symbol looked like.

"Together forever? Like best friends?" She asked excitedly and I smiled her way. "Yeah"

"Cool. Draw it on my hand right here" She said putting her arm out towards me. I took a marker and drew the symbol on her arm. I felt her giggle lightly as the market slipped through her skin.

"Okay" I said lightly before pointing the pen at her. "Draw in mine. Draw in mine" I said excitedly and waited till she copied it from her hand to mine. As soon as she was done we held out hands together out to the light of the room.

"Best friends forever" She said looking down at it and I smiled in response.

"....And they lived happily ever after" Andrea and Katie's turn to entertain the room with something special was over with those words. Annie quickly climbed back up to her bunk to enjoy the rest of the show.

I wasn't confident as most of them in the place. We all know each other from quite sometime now but I'm still not comfortable with wining a lot of attention. Annie on the other hand was basically the one with all the attention one could receive. She was cheerful and happy and she always knew how to twist a frown upside down.

"Okay. Who's next? Who's next?" The sister looked around the room. I looked down at my feet digging my toes on to the mattress just like the past four times she looked around the room to pick someone to do something.

"Travis?" Her voice got me to wince. "Would you like to do something entertaining tonight."

"No..." I said sitting back on my bed hugging my legs close to me.

"Yes." I jumped as Annie's feet dingled from the top of our bunk bed. "Let's do something." She jumped down and grabbed me by the hand.

"No." I hesitated when she took my hand from both her's and literally dragged me out of bed. "It'll be fun. C'mon. Let's do the best friends song."
