Chapter 10: The Rescue X Jedi

OUT IN THE WILDERNESS THIRD PERSON'S POV

The soldiers maintained a strict patrol around the wreckage of the escape pods, they had erected hastily build barriers against the hostile wildlife of this strange world, all the scouts they had sent out hadn't returned and presumed dead, now the men kept a constant vigil on the trees and grass for the large black monsters that seemed intent on slaughtering them all.

The soldiers were rushing around the perimeter of their landing zone shooting at the black shapes that moved through the grass, the vaporizing bodies of Beowolves lying in the grass as more charged over the bodies towards the object of their extreme hatred.

"It's hopeless, they just keep coming! We must fall back!" yelled a man in a white uniform, the emblem of the Republic on his shoulders as he commanded the white armored marines, volleys of red laser fire lancing into the Grimm's black furred bodies.

"You will not retreat from this position. We have nowhere else to run as we are surrounded by the local fauna, we have no other option but to fight" came a man's voice who walked over to the man.

"Sir we are clearly outnumbered and overworked, we must abandon this position and fend for ourselves, we are leaving the " the officer said in an arrogant tone of voice.

"I gave you an order soldier and you WILL hold this position... do I make myself clear?" The commander said as he blasted a Grimm in the face as it fell to the ground and turned to dust.

Another officer ran over to the men.

"Sir we have the communications array up and ready and I sent out a distress signal" The officer said.

"Good let's hope someone will receive it." The commander said as he blasted another Grimm.

Y/N)'S ROOM, THE NEXT MORNING, (Y/N)'S POV

My eyes snapped open as I heard a familiar ringing noise coming from my communicator, I looked over and saw it sitting on my desk. Thinking to myself who was calling me.

I stood up and picked up the device and pressed the call accept button and a hologram appeared of a tall man and an upgraded blaster rifle in his hand.

"This is Commander Terrice does anyone reading me.... I repeat any Republic forces respond"

My eyes widen when I heard that name.

"Commander this is Y/N can hear me?" I asked

"Y/N is that you it's been a long time, but we catch up later I don't suppose you can give us a hand... I am currently embroiled in a situation with the local wildlife, and I have a group of troopers with me were trying our best to hold them, but we need support." Commander Terrice said as a solider screamed as he was grabbed by a Grimm and tossed into the black.

"Very well, I will be there shortly, try to hold out as long as you can until I arrive" I say as I write down the co-ordinates and hang up the call. To think that my old friend commander Terrice was here and alive but not for long if I don't get to him in time.

I grabbed my lightsaber from the table and walked out of the room and made my way down the hall. As I passed team RWBY'S room I was spotted by Ruby as she opened the door.

"Are you going somewhere?" Ruby asked, tilting her head curiously.

"Yes, I just got a call about some men being attacked by the Grimm, I'm off to lend my assistance..." I said as I walked passed her.

"Are you going to go and rescue them (Y/N)?" Ruby asked me.

"Yes I am I can't leave them to die" I replied besides it's not a school day, anyway right?
