"Ruby, (Y/N), over here! I saved you guys a spot!" The heard the voice of Ruby's older sister Yang.
"Hey, we got to go! We'll see you after the ceremony!" Ruby says as she leads y/n towards Yang.
"Hey, wait! Great, where am I supposed to find another nice, quirky girl to talk to?" Jaune says to himself as he walks away.
Y/n and Ruby arrive next to Yang, she looks at y/n with a wide smile.
"So, how's your first day going, little sister?" she asks.
"You mean after you ditched me, and I exploded!?" Ruby exclaimed angrily.
"Yikes, meltdown already?" Yang asked.
"No, I literally exploded a hole in front of the school! And there was fire, a-and I think some ice" Ruby said embarrassed.
"Are you being sarcastic?" Yang asks teasingly.
"Ugh, I wish! I tripped over some crabby girl's luggage! And then she started yelling at me! And then I sneezed. And then I exploded. And then she started yelling again! And I felt really, really bad! And I just wanted her to stop yelling at me!" Ruby said.
"Which you did in a way Ruby" Y/n added.
"You!" came a familiar, irritating voice.
"Oh god, it's happening again!" Ruby says as she jumps into your arms.
"You're lucky we weren't blown off the side of the cliff!" the heiress scolded.
(That would have been a hell of a thrill) Y/N thought to himself as he held Ruby bridal style.
"Oh my god, you really exploded" Yang said.
"It was an accident! It was an accident!" Ruby said as you placed her back onto her feet.
"What's this?" Ruby asked as Weiss shoved a pamphlet in her face.
"The Schnee Dust Company is not responsible for any injuries or damages while operating a Schnee Dust Company product. Although not mandatory, the Schnee Family highly encourages their customers to read and familiarize themselves with this easy-to-follow guide to Dust application and practice in the field" Weiss said rapidly. (She must have practiced that a lot...)
"Umm..." Ruby says.
"You really want to start making things up with me?" Weiss asked Ruby.
"Absolutely" Ruby said.
"Read this and don't ever speak to me again" Weiss snapped.
"Look, uhh, it sounds like you all got off on the wrong foot. Maybe you three should start over and try to be friends, okay?" Yang offered.
"Yeah! Great idea sis! Ahem, hello Weiss, I'm Ruby. You want to hang out? We could go shopping for school supplies" Ruby says as she holds out her hand.
"Yeah! And we can paint our nails, and try on clothes, and talk about cute boys like tall blonde and scraggly over there!" she says sarcastically, gesturing to Jaune.
"Oh wow, really?" Ruby asks hopefully.
"...No" Weiss snaps.
"Don't worry Ruby at least you tried, you don't need a bratty, girl like her for approval anyways..." Y/N said loudly and gave Ruby a smile
This earned a glare from the heiress, which really didn't affect Y/N that much considering he came from a place that some if not all people Y/N come across gave him a glare.
Then they saw Ozpin walk onto the stage and begin to speak into a microphone.
"Ahem... I'll keep this brief. You have travelled here today in search of knowledge. To hone your craft and acquire new skills. And when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look at you and all I see is wasted energy in need of purpose, direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time here at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step. Ozpin said, sounding very distant.
