Lisa's P.O.V

I widened my eyes as my doctor asked me to follow the light from the small flashlight she had pulled from her pocket a few minutes ago.

"Alright, now does it hurt when I press here?" Dr. Montgomery asked and I nodded when she pushed onto the skin just above my waist. "Scale from one to ten?" she asked. "Right now about a four" I answered and she nodded and picked up her clipboard to write down some evaluations.

"How have these attacks been lately?" she asked and pulled the clipboard to her chest. "I haven't had one in a few weeks actually, but I feel like that can only mean the next one I have will be really bad right?" I asked and she sighed, which I knew was her way of saying yes. "Figured" I mumbled.

"Hey, If you haven't had one in a while this could be good, we don't know for sure if the next attack will be any worse" Dr. Montgomery tried to reassure me. "Yeah well, we don't know if it will get any better either" I argued. "You don't have to sugar code it for me, I can practically sense the upcoming attack on the way with all kinds of wonderful pains for me to endure" I added snarkily, resulting in an eye roll from the doctor.

"Ms. Manoban, I have known you since your mother cradled you here 19 months ago, and a little hope wouldn't hurt '' She said, giving me a sympathetic smile. "Well it was you who told me I would die in 3 years wasn't it?" I paused. "Sorry if I don't have faith or hope in a system that's just going to kill me in another 17 months, or the countless scans piled up in my file telling you and all the other doctors here i'm only getting worse" I finished and it came out a little more harsh than I had intended it to. "Sorry that was harsh, I didn't mean it to come out that way, I just-" I tried but she cut me off with a soft chuckle which took me by surprise. She placed her hand on my shoulder and sighed. "You're just tired of this thing that happened to you that's beyond unfair and you're holding a grudge against the world for it" She said, finishing my sentence for me. I took a deep breath and nodded. "I know, I would be mad at the world too, in fact i'm pretty sure I would lose all sanity and scream out from the rooftops" she told me with a soft chuckle, and I ended up chuckling at as well.

"Is that you telling me to go shout out from the rooftops?" I asked sarcastically. "No, If I hear you have been shouting out from rooftops I will assign you a new doctor" She joked and we both laughed harmoniously.

"Should we invite Mr. Park into the room now?" Dr. Montgomery asked and I nodded.

I watched as she opened the door and gulped seeing both Mason and Chae walking into the room.

"You're sure you want us here?" Mason asked me and I nodded. "Yeah, yes, I'm sure, it's time I let people in again" I answered and I noticed my doctor smiling at my words.

"Alright then I will go ahead and get started" Dr. Montgomery announced and pulled out my files from the cabinet in the corner of the room.

"Aright, Ms. Manoban here is 18 months into a terminal unnamed sickness that we believe to be eating at the flesh, bone, tissue, and fat just above her waist, and we also believe it is only spreading more in her body. Now while we are familiar with Necrotizing Fasciitis, which is the disease responsible for flesh eating, there are other variables here that the other doctors and I have noticed. Lisa gets these extreme bodily attacks that cause her body to shut down and give her crippling pain throughout her body, she breaks into a sweat and is unable to move for however long the attack lasts" She paused looking at both Mason and Chae, who were both equally shocked. "She also experiences major fatigue and is extremely sensitive to movement" She added.

"Well what's the difference between whatever this is and the Necrotizing fa...whatever you said" Mason asked. "Well the difference is that Necrotizing Fasciitis is strictly a flesh eating disease that's curable. But with the other variables in Ms. Manobans sickness it's easily noticeable that this is far more complicated than that" She answered.
