Update for those that have conversations with me. I adore you

Driving down the driveway to Vince's childhood home made me more nervous than I thought I would be. It wasn't like I was seeing my own parents. Vince was still ten times more nervous than I was. His hands were sweaty enough to cure a drought. It definitely made me reconsider holding his hand for comfort.

I usually didn't like to show up to places unannounced because I've had some pretty bad reactions when people have answered their doors. I already knew that showing up uninvited would mean that we weren't getting a good response and I could prepare myself for that, but it didn't make it any easier.

Vince hesitated to knock on the door, causing me to do it for him. A small woman answered the door and Vince lost his breath. Their eyes were the same, but besides that I didn't notice too many similarities.

"Vincenzo, what are you doing here?"

"I'm here for Emilia."

"You know you're not welcome here."

Rage filled my bones and I stepped between the pair, "Invite me in."

"I will not."

"Fine." I shoved my way past her into her home.

"I will call the police," She threatened.

"Then let me introduce you to me so you know who you're turning in. I was born during a snowstorm and my mother was worried every second bringing me home because she thought the car would break down and I would freeze to death. Fortunately, we survived the car ride home."

I walked around the house picking up random objects and putting them back down because they lost my interest.

"She later had my brother. He was premature, which made my parents nervous to do anything with him because they were worried they would break him. They had always been really careful with him, it was like the boy was wrapped in bubble wrap. It drove him crazy to be so coddled. A few times he rebelled and did something that got him hurt to prove to my parents they were being overbearing."

I laughed, shaking my head.

"My parents just wrapped him in more bubble wrap every time he got hurt. The only time they didn't was watching him get lowered into his grave. I bet you my parents would be thrilled to hear my brother had a successful career as a pornstar. My parents would just be thrilled to have their kid back."

I stopped in front of a fireplace with photos lining the shelf. I picked up one that I assumed was Emilia, since I had never seen her face, and I dropped it onto the floor. It shattered in pieces.

"You're ungrateful."

Vince's mother gasped, holding her hand in front of her mouth.

"Your son is alive. He's standing right in front of you. Let him in or stop calling yourself a parent," I growled.

A large man came down the stairs from the commotion and pulled his wife into his arms when he saw Vince standing by the door.

"The next thing I break is this lovely glass table if you don't invite him in." I smiled, disgusted with the pair.

"He is not welcome in this home," The man replied.

"Not the response I wanted." I took a fireplace poker and shattered the glass table.

The man let go of his wife to come try to forcibly remove me. Vince stepped inside and it was like it shook the man out of his rage towards me and redirected it towards Vince.
