"So you've never done laser tag before?" An employée asked.

When I said no, they started explaining how everything worked. Hannah kept wiggling her eyebrows at me as she watched a teenage boy try and show her how to hold the laser gun. David had two employees trying to fit the chest pad on him, one on a ladder.

Julian walked up, kissing Hannah's forehead, "Sorry. They heard laser tag and wouldn't let me leave until I let them come."

The boys looked like they'd had energy drinks for breakfast. They bounced more than a stripper's ass on a Saturday. Vince smiled my way and I gave a tight-lipped smile back. Raphael enveloped me in the largest hug I'd ever been in, then more gently man-hugged David.

David leaned down, whispering in my ear, "Is it weird I think these guys are pretty?"

"No."

"How do you know them again?"

I sighed, deciding to tell him the truth, "They're pornstars babe."

David raised his eyebrows and nodded. I expected him to react differently, and I was surprised he was so calm. He just seemed to accept the fact and move on, making me believe he was incredibly understanding or in shock.

Once we were fitted for chest plates and handed the laser guns we were told to pick teams and names. Hannah picked Hannibal and Julian picked Lecter, which was disgustingly cute.

I looked over the names appearing on the screen and tried to guess who they belonged to. 'Ladies Man' was obviously Kaleb. 'Chocolate Thunder' was Raphael and 'Deany Baby' was no other than Dean. David couldn't figure out what to put for his name and asked for my help.

"You should be 'Farmer Boy,'" Hannah jumped in.

"David the Goliath!" I said excitedly.

David rolled his eyes but typed in my suggestion anyway. I typed my name in too, seeing it appear below David's.

"Who's 'Reaper'?" Kaleb asked.

"It's Rhia, obviously," Vince spoke for the first time since he'd shown up.

"What are you Moretti?" I asked.

"InVincible.'"

I laughed, loving how ridiculous it was. David introduced himself to the guys and they looked at him with wide eyes, looking up at someone for probably the first time in their entire lives.

"We need to pick teams!" Hannah called out.

She had already put herself and Julian on one side. I told her to add David and me. Dean and Raphael started the other team, taking Kaleb and Vince. Vince walked over to our side and held his hand out to David.

"I'm extremely competitive and it's possible someone will leave here in an ambulance. I've been told I should warn you." Vince shook his hand.

"Why me?" David asked.

"Everyone else already knows I'm like this," Vince explained.

He walked back to his side and pointed at his eyes and then at me. I gave him the middle finger. The employees released us into the laser tag arena and made us watch a safety video and told us again how to use the guns. Then, they released us.

The room went dark and then ultraviolet lights turned on, illuminating the places to hide behind. I adjusted my fingers on the laser gun and barely listened as my group discussed strategy. I had one target.

I turned to look at David, "You're going to watch my back right?"

"Of course. Just don't expect me to take a laser for you," He joked.
