We are humans
Inhabited by a creature
A shadow
On the run from white demons
We never said our stories
So we're returning back again
We hide in a well
So no one looks down to see the hole we live in
Cause darkness doesn't draw the eye
No one will ever tell
When we scream and cry
We're only seen as shadows
Not humans
However we see each other as people in pain
Trying to get by
Hopefully you'll see us that way too
After we try to convey to you our livesA girl striving for innocence
Just trying to make it by
She met her first white demon
Thinking she was fine
Suddenly she choked her
Left her hanging dry
Blood oozed from back
And fear raced in her heart
As another white demon came along
To tear her apart
They stripped her of love
Hope
And care
For a shadow to inhabit her
So they could eat her right then and there
She's constantly on the run
While she feels them come for blood
And she breathes heavily now
It was never meant to be fun
The shadow isn't always seen
In fact she hides it well
But the moment she feels a little anger
It reveals itself to the world
She becomes a dark creature
Trying to survive and defend
Even if they're treating her like a friend
Trust is fragile
And she doesn't want to go back again
So she shuts her eyes
And weeps until there's nothing left
They say she's strong
But she has yet to feel that way yetHe was soft
And he was caring
No one really knows his story
I guess they stopped listening
His heart is in two
And he fakes his smile
So he's been running for a long while
His hands shake
From the cold surrounding him
Everyday he only goes
"I wish..."
Wishing to see the sun tomorrow
Hoping the white demon can't come back
But we all know better
They won't give up
And soon they'll attack
His shadow is always seeping out
If you look through the cracks
It's in his eyes
Where tears seep out
He can't help but scream and shout
"Is there somebody that could help
Or am I talking to myself...
Is anybody out there?"
Sometimes he takes down his walls
And you learn more than meets the eye
He's really just trying to get by
But instead he runs
All the time
There's no knowledge of escapeThere was a second boy
And he knows the first girl's pain
But his eyes have been gouged out
By the white demon who puppets him
He doesn't see it now
But a shadow inhabits his body
And she has hunted him down
He lets her beat him day and night
Because he knows it'll make her proud
She drains the energy from those around her
Then smiles as she reigns in power
Yet we often wonder how to save him
How to return his eyes
But we don't know where she's hid them
And girl shadow is not going back into her jaws
They share the same white demon
She's hunting for her too
So there's not much she can do
I often wonder about his brain
If it tells him how it's wrong
And if his heart aches from the pain
It feels like it's been too long
Others have tried a plan of attack
But they're going about it wrong
And should take a step back
As much as we'd love to play hero
We can't
He has to destroy his own
So to you poor lost soul
Stand up
Breathe
And realize your strength againShe was different
Her white demon seems to have disappeared
At least from existence
However he left her marked
And she thought he was a friend
But friends don't manipulate
Especially not like that
So she's turned to another boy
But she's scared for him to hold her
Hugs don't agree
Don't touch her
And she doesn't want your cuddles
Yet she's learning to trust him
And watch it all melt in puddles
It wasn't her fault
No matter what they say
She didn't understand
It was a twisted brain game
So it was ripped away
And she's still scared
That all are the same
Even if they care
When she said she likes it slow
She meant she likes it slow
No one can hurt you
Or cause damage
Then let you go
She's got a light to her though
And she knows how it shines
Because her mark will be there
But the shadow will fade
She still doesn't like being touched
And that's awful to see
However she's strong
And is slowly being set freeThere was a third boy
A boy who has to become a man
Too many white demons have snactched him
He's been hunted down so much
He just might drown
First was a man
Who he thought he could trust
But the scars on his back
Make him wonder
But he swore he'll never be his father
And then came her
The prettiest white demon of all
She wrapped him around her finger
Now he feels less than enough
He hasn't ripped away from her
But he's always on the run
Yet he stumbles over her lies
And is tricked by her silver tongue
Oh no though
He's "fine"
But last I checked
Ripping someone's brain has never been fine
We wish he would run away
If only she couldn't find him
And we could hide him away
Then maybe he could fully heal
And be right on his way
But once you find a white demon
Sometimes you can't let go
It's the Stockholm Syndrome
That quakes you to your bones
She's got him thinking he's her only hope
It's worked on his shadow brain
So now she feeds daily
If you can hear this
"Run, friend. Don't walk away."
