After our moment in the parking lot, I felt closer to Ariana. Don't get me wrong, it definitely got awkward while we were in the mall, but it felt like we had just clicked. I wasn't sure if she felt it too, but with this family, I just seemed to fit perfectly.

We got matching pairs of white crocs, and she had made me try on dresses, insisting on it because homecoming was coming up.

I didn't end up picking out anything I liked, but we took a few pictures together in the mirror before we went to the food court for lunch.

By the time we got back to her house, Adriana was awake. She was, of course, in her bed eating popcorn and candy.

"You haven't moved since we left," Ariana noted.

"Haven't had a reason to," Adriana snapped back. "Somebody stole my friend."

"I didn't steal her; it was a rescue mission."

"And what exactly did you rescue her from?"

"Sitting here and watching you sleep for a few hours."

"I actually had a good time," I said, attempting to break up the bickering going on between the two of them. I knew how fights between sisters could go, and that was not something I wanted to witness after such a good day. "I got new crocs!" I said, probably with too much enthusiasm.

Adriana rolled her eyes, and Ariana smiled, taking amusement from her sister's obvious annoyance. Although, why she was annoyed was beyond me.

"Well, as much as I'd love to hear how much fun the two of you had together, I'd rather sit here and finish this movie, so bye."

Ariana tried to get a word in, but Adriana immediately turned up the volume, making both of us roll our eyes and walk out.

"Sorry," Ariana started. "I don't know who pissed in her cheerios this morning."

"You don't have to keep apologizing for her. Her actions aren't your choice, and if she was really sorry, she'd say so herself. She can be in a sour mood if she wants, but I'm not just going to sit and take it. I'd rather be here having a good time with you."

She smiled and looked up at me. For a moment, we held eye contact. A look crossed her face, but I couldn't quite tell what it meant.

"Let's play a game."

"Uhh, sure. What do you have in mind?" I asked.

"Never have I ever?"

"A little middle school, but I'm down."

"5 fingers, you start."

"Um," I tired to think. "Never have I ever... slept with... a guy?"

Her finger went down and she blushed. "Never?" she asked.

"Never," I reiterated.

"Well then, never have I ever slept with a girl," she said smirking.

My finger went down.

"Oh my god, you're kidding!!" She said entirely too loud.

Now I was the one blushing. "Shut up."

"How?"

"How did I sleep with her?"

"No. Well, yes, but how was it? Are you lesbian? Bi? What's the story? Give me details!"

"If you'd give me a second to get a word out, maybe I could."

She laughed and playfully rolled her eyes. "I'm all ears."

"First of all, I'm bi. Secondly, it was great. I am not giving the whole story or any intricate details. We were together for a few months, and we both wanted to. It was my first time, but she had some experience. It was this past summer, and we only broke up because we knew I was going to move and didn't want to try long distance. We don't talk anymore, and I'm over it. No hard feelings."

She just looked at me for a second and studied me. "You know," she started, "I've never even kissed a girl."

So it was a dream.

"Never," she emphasized, probably because I was just staring.

"Not even for truth or dare?"

She shook her head.

"Spin the bottle?"

"Nope," she said, popping the 'p'.

"Well it's amazing. Girls have softer lips." We both laughed slightly at that comment.

"I've always kind of wanted to."

"Kiss me," I offered.

Why did I just say that? What?

"What?" she questioned, voicing my last thought.

"Kiss me," I repeated as more of a whisper. I wasn't sure where this courage came from. At this point, the words that left my mouth probably left me looking just as shocked as her.

"Okay," she whispered back.

What?

"It's just like a normal kiss, right?" She asked.

I chucked slightly. "It is just a normal kiss, only with a girl and not a guy... at least I'm pretty sure I'm a girl." Not going to lie, I was pretty out of it. Whatever was leaving my mouth was doing so of it's own accord.

She laughed and my heart swelled slightly.

She leaned in, and I gently cupped her cheek. Our lips met, gently at first, but soon enough it turned into more.

I wasn't sure where the attraction was coming from on her side, but I was losing it.

I was internally screaming. Am I pressuring her? Am I pushing too much? Am I making this something it's not?

She deepened the kiss, pushing me slightly back onto the bed so that she straddle me as her tongue gained access to my mouth.

No way is she about to top.

I quickly rolled us over and pinned her hands above her head.

She let out a slight moan that immediately brought me back to reality. I broke apart from the kiss and sat up.

"You're right." She broke the silence.

"What?"

"You're right," she repeated.

   "About?"

   "Girls have softer lips."
