She ran up behind me in the hall before I had the chance to make it back to the party.

"What the fuck was that? You give me the best orgasm of my life and then leave me alone in the nasty school bathroom?"

"I thought that was what you wanted."

"How is that what I wanted? What girl wants to be left alone after that?"

"What girl wants to be left alone after continuously being lead on and used?"

"So how was that what I wanted?"

"It was sex, no strings attached. That seemed to be the only thing you were after before. I don't see how it's any different now other than the fact that I'm on board. I'll see you around."

I made my way back into the gym to find Adriana and Jordan.

"There you are!" Adriana said excitedly, handing me a cup. "I thought you had gotten lost or something."

I made eye contact with Jordan. She gave me a knowing look before looking away. I took the cup from Adriana's hand before faking a smile. "Some football dude was trying to get my number. He really couldn't take a hint."

She laughed and shook her head. "That should help you forget." She smiled and nodded towards the cup.

"Oh God, what did you fill this with."

"Take a sip and find out."

Against my better judgment, I took a swig. It took everything in me not to spit it out. I quickly swallowed it and felt it burn as it made its way down my throat. "That is disgusting!"

Adriana gave a confused face. "Let me see." She snatched my cup and looked into it. "I forgot to add punch! Oopsies."

"Was that straight vodka?"

"It might have been." Her expression was guilty.

"Asshole," I laughed and shook my head.

"Well now I'm not adding punch to your cup," she teased.

I gave her a quick look which she responded to with an eye roll before she walked off to fill my cup with something other than plain alcohol.

Once Adriana had walked away, I looked over toward Jordan to start some sort of conversation. She had one arm wrapped across her midsection, holding onto the the other hanging by her side. It was a protective stance.

"Did I miss any good songs?"

She looked at me, not bothering to turn her head instead passing me a side glance. She sighed and took a sip of her cup.

"Tough crowd." She didn't acknowledge that with a response. "You having a good time?"

She rolled her eyes. "I was."

"What changed?"

"My date left and fucked my best friend in the bathroom."

My jaw dropped. I didn't know what to tackle first. "I didn't know I was your date."

"We took pictures and spent the whole time together. If you wanted to go screw her in the bathroom, you could have at least let me know."

"That's what you think happened? You think I left you to go have sex in the dirty school bathroom?"

"I saw you guys look at each other all night. You left, and then she left. I'm not stupid."

"That's not what happened."

"Did you or did you not hook up with her in the bathroom?"

"I did but-"

"That's all I needed to know." She turned to walk away, but I quickly spoke up, loud enough that only she would hear me.

"No it isn't! That is not all you need to know. I went to the bathroom to get a break from her constantly staring at me. I could feel her burning holes in the back of my head. She followed me, unprompted, and started bugging me in the bathroom. I was mad that I couldn't get a second away from her. Since you know whatever about us, you must know that I liked her, and she kept leading me on and using me. I don't like being toyed with, so I took control of the situation the only way I knew she'd actually listen to what I was saying. I fucked her against the wall of the locker room."

She looked at me with a face that only read surprise.

"If you think it was something big and romantic, you couldn't be more wrong. I used my anger and pain because I needed it out of my system. It definitely wasn't the best way to go about things, but I did what I did."

She still only stood there.

"I know that she's your best friend, but I'm not sure why my actions are any of your concern."

Her eyes were on the floor now.

I scoffed at her lack of response and walked away to find Adriana.

"Y/n wait!" I stopped but didn't turn around.

She made her way in front of me.

"It's not any of my business what you do. I just-" she exhaled loudly and her body forcefully dropped for a second as if her weight had suddenly doubled.

She breathed in deeply and looked into my eyes.

"I like you."

Her body perked back up like the weight had instantly left her.

"I like you, and I have for a while. Ariana formed a... connection with you first, so I would have been out of line if I went after you. I-I don't know what happened but... but after the first time you spend the night at their house, something changed. She's my best friend, and like I've said before, I notice things. I wasn't going to insert myself into your situation. I'm just tired of seeing her drag you around like you're nothing when you deserve better. Sorry if I seem nosy and overbearing. I don't want my best friend hurt, but I don't want you hurt either."

I was the one looking at her, now speechless. "Why?" was all I could push out.

"What do you mean why? Why do I like you? Why did I let it go on so long? Why am I only confessing it when I know you just got with her? I like you because you're smart, beautiful, and passionate. You're funny and persistent. I let it go on so long because I was scared my friend would hate me, and I thought you would move on and get over your crush on her. I thought that after staring at her so long, maybe you'd notice the girl that was always at her side. I'm saying this all now because... because..." She instantly paled, her next sentence only coming out in a panicked whisper. "Oh God! Why did I just confess all of that?"
