The government tells us that mutants are dangerous, unpredictable criminals. The church tells us that mutants are abominations, demons sent here to temp humans to do the devils work. Parents tell their children that the mutants will get them if they don't eat their vegetables. What no one says, but everyone knows, is that they are afraid of the mutants, afraid of the creatures they do not understand. And because they are afraid, they hunt down the mutants, killing their fear one by one, until none remain.
