Argon strode into the room with an amused smile on his cold face. He was flanked by two armed guards with two more guardsing the door on the outside. Chris and I rose from our positions on the floor and regarded him wearily. "Good morning my little captives," He said cheerily. Neither of us said anything.
"No hello back?" Argon asked. "Obviously your time here has done nothing for your manners. I really thought those attaiude adjustments would work." Argon's face lit up in a sadistic grin and I wanted so badly to smack him across the face. That would just lead to harsh punishment, though, and would overall not worth it.
"Well, incase you are curious as to why I am here, and I sincerely hope you are, I was just going to tell you that I am nearly finished with my invasion planning. In one week the government will be mine," Argon said and paused. "And you will be executed in front of everyone. I hope your schedules clear for next Wednesday."
"Or maybe you'll fail miserably and we'll be set free," I suggested in an acid voice, glaring at Argon. "And you'll have a few rounds of lead pumped into you."
Argon's eyes narrowed and I waited for him to order a guard to hurt me but insted he started laughing a cold, false laugh. "Oh Jet, you are a ray of sunshine aren't you. I'll be happy to watch that light seep out of you in a week."
I so badly wan't to slap him across the face but I knew that would only earn a very painful punishment and my wounds had just started fading. So instead I just glared at him and emitted a low hiss, shich surprised me as soon as it came out. I suppose I was one fourth mutant.
"Well, thank you for giving us the wonderful news," Chris told him sarcastically. "Now if you'd leave we do have quite alot to get done. A barren concrete cell doesn't clean it's self you know." The cell was actually quite the same as it was when we arrived, apart froma few blood stains on the floor and a foul smell coming from the small hole in the corner that served as the toilet.
"Oh, but I have much more good news," Argon told us in an excited voice. "Guess what it is?"
"You are terminally ill with an incurable disease?" I asked in my angel sweet voice. I really hoped that was the good news.
"Incorrect," Argon told me with a quick glare. "I have captured two high ranking members of the Sentinels and I am holding them hostage to keep the Sentinels from interfering with my plans." My breath caught. Please not my father, please not my father, please not my father. I prayed that over and over until Argon spoke again. "Unfortunatly, neither of them are your father, but he wasn't important enough to bother with." Argon sighed as if this fact pained him.
"I'm so sorry for the inconvenience," I told Argon, my voice dripping with distasted.
"Thank you for the condolence," Argon shot back with just as much venom. "Well, I do beleive you are all caught up on what's been going on. I will see you very soon. Goodbye." And with that Argon turned on the heals of his loafers and exited the room. His guards flanked him on either side and left our cell as well, closing and locking the door behind him.
I glared at the door for a good two minutes before I turned away and unceremoniously flopped down on the floor. Chris sat beside me solemnly and I knew what he was thinking. One more week. One more week until our assasination. Even if Argon's forces failed to seize control, I doubted we would be set free. If Argon went down, I had a feeling he would drag us with him. Rescue was out of the option. No one knew Chris and I were there and even if they did, the place was locked up tight. Escape was the only option, but the odds of that were gravely dim.
"There has to we a weak point," Chris muttered, his eyes darting around the cell, his feline eyes calculating and scrutinizing. "Some where."
"What?" I asked as his eyes continued to flick about.
