Sophie and her friends made their way out of the house and onto the lush grounds.
"Ok, so the first team is Sophie, Keefe, and me," Biana declared. "And the second is Linh, Fitz, Dex, and Tam." Dex muttered something about "being stuck with the Wonderboy" and Fitz looked slightly annoyed and suspicious. Sophie started giggling until Biana winked at her mischievously. She gulped. This was not good. The glittery girl was obviously up to something. She got her obnoxious tendency to meddle from her father.
"Fitz's team will quest first. Sophie, Keefe, come with me." Biana grabbed their wrists and dragged them towards a big, beautiful tree in an isolated clearing. The tree had deep, rich brown bark and graceful, leafy branches that seemed to dance in the slight breeze.
"Okay. This is our base," Biana said. "You guys stay here and guard it while I scout the area." Before Sophie or Keefe could reply, Biana had already vanished. Though not before quickly giving Sophie a thumbs up.
"That was weird," Sophie muttered.
"Well, it looks like it's just you and me, Foster," Keefe said, leaning against the tree. "All alone..." Sophie felt her face heat up.
"You're very observant," she replied sarcastically.
"Yep. It's one of my many good traits." Keefe ran a hand through his hair and winked. Sophie couldn't help but notice how handsome he looked. His soft lips, parted slightly to reveal perfect white teeth. His sharp, angled jaw. His perfectly arched eyebrows. His toned arms and the faint outline of abs through his tunic. The way the sun shown behind him, the rays exploding around him and making his golden locks shine......
"Foster," Keefe said. "You alright there? You zoned out again." He had a small twinkle in his eyes and his lips formed the start of a smile. Sophie just about had a heart attack. Nononononono, she thought. He saw me checking him out!!!!!!!
Keefe chuckled slightly, moving a bit closer to her.
"Anyways... Now that I've beaten my record in 'Make Foster Blush', my favorite game by the way, I have an idea." Keefe sat down and motioned for her to join him. She hesitantly lowered herself beside him, blushing as their hands brushed together. Thankfully, he didn't seem to notice.
"Remember that favor I owe you?" He continued. Sophie nodded. Keefe looked away from her, fidgeting with the long, emerald green grass. He paused before asking,
"Have you figured out what you want?" Keefe had lowered his voice to a whisper. He looked nervous. Sophie had a feeling he wasn't just talking about the favor. She was now sure of what she wanted. Propelled by a sudden rush of confidence, she replied softly,
"I have." Keefe's eyes snapped up to hers.
"R-really?" He asked. Sophie nodded. Keefe's face lit up with a glorious smile. Then, he leaned in towards Sophie's face, tilting his head to the side. She felt her heart stop. But that didn't keep her from tilting her head the opposite direction and closing her eyes. Her head was devoid of all thoughts and she felt almost giddy.
Just as their lips were about to meet, they heard a high-pitched squeal and several gasps.
