I sat alone in Martin's as I slurped on the iced tea while peering out of the window occasionally to look at the driveway. My gaze dropped back down to my phone as I tapped on Clara's name. I opened up our conversation and sent her a text.

R: Clarabug, where are you?
───────────────
This is weird because Clara's hardly ever late for anything. She always nagged about how punctuality is a virtue and being late is the rudest thing people can do to another person. Therefore, for her to be late it must've been some inevitable circumstances. Crossing my fingers now, I could only hope that it wasn't a car breakdown.
I was about to place my phone away and return to my book when a notification popped up and Leon's name flashed in the notification bar. I quickly tapped on it to read the rest of the text.
───────────────
L: Hey sweetheart, I missed you. Have you met Clara yet?
R: Hey handsome, I missed you too. Sadly, no.
L: Hmm, I guess she should be reaching soon.
R: What do you mean?
L: You can ask her later. See you soon, sweetheart.
R: Wait!
R: Leon?

He went offline even before I could ask anything further. I wanted to call but the diner's door was swung open in one violent push and Clara appeared right in front of me in split seconds.
"Sweetie, we've got to go." she pulled on my arm, forcing me off balance and my body fell to the side. My other hand immediately shot out to prevent myself from falling face flat on the cushioned seat.
"What—"
"Ask later, we really need to go," she interrupted, nudging me as I shifted myself out of the seat and hurried out of Martin's with her. She pointed to her car as a signal for me to get in. As much as I am curious now, I sensed the urgency and hopped on the car without questioning further.
I buckled up my seatbelt and Clara had already kickstarted the engine. She turned her steering wheel and got us off Martin's driveway. I was still in a state of shock at what's all the rush about. "Did something happen?" I probed carefully.
"We're going to Trix," she replied. "There's someone there who would like to meet you."
"Who?"
"Her name's Avery," Clara explained. "She said that she is willing to stand in court with you."
I turned my head sharply and stared at Clara, I asked, "And why would she do that?"
