it was finally snowing in hawkins. it feels like el has been waiting forever, but it's only been two days. she wanted it to snow because mike promised her he was gonna take her sledding when it does
so you can guess what she's doing right now while the phone on the wall rang...
"el! phone!" hop yells
she was in her room getting on her coat, gloves, hat, and scarf. she was excited. she got to spend the day with mike
"coming!" she yells back as she ties her shoelaces and walks out of her room
she grabbed the phone and put it to her ear
"hello?"
"hey el!"
"hi mike" she couldn't stop smiling
"so last night it started snowing pretty hard so you know what that means?"
"yes" gosh she was so excited. she was already ready
"great! well uh, get ready and i'll be there in twenty"
"i'm already ready.."
mike paused for a second
"you are?"
she nods but then remembered he can't see her through the phone "y-yes"
"gosh you're so cute..alright well uh..i'm also ready..." even mike was too excited to see her, the minute he got up this morning and saw all the snow he got ready
she giggles
mike thought it was the cutest thing he's ever heard
"well i-i'm ready too.."
"you are?"
"...yeah"
she giggles again
"well hurry up i wanna see you"
he nods "r-right! i'll uh-i'll be there"
"see you"
"see you"
she hung up the phone and sat on the couch. her and mike never say 'bye' or 'goodbye' it bring back bad memories. so when they end a call or he has to go home, they always say 'see you'. it lets them know that they'll be seeing each other again. it's not a goodbye
after mike hung up he quickly dashed up the basement stairs, throwing the door open and running to the front door
"hey no running in the house!" well ted has to do something
"michael where are you going?" karen asks with flour all over her apron and holly on the counter stealing chocolate chips
"..it snowed"
his mom should understand. she was eavesdropping on their conversation when he promised el he would take her sledding
"what?" she asks
