Sophia's Point of View

A few hours later, I walked into the clubhouse, feeling weary, as was the norm for me lately. EZ followed close behind. Coco greeted me at the door with a smile and a hug. I wrapped my arms around him and let him hold me tight.

"Hey baby girl," Coco said, his tone serious, "We need to talk to you about something at the table."

"At the table?" I replied, feeling uneasy, "Second time in a week...it must be serious."

"We wouldn't be bringing you into this if we didn't think it was necessary," Angel said as he put his hands on my shoulders from behind.

I pulled away from him and turned to look up at him with uncertainty and perhaps a little fear. My stomach was churning. Angel could sense my unease and he grabbed my hand and led me to a secluded corner. I looked up and as usual, I was unable to read him.

"I need you to trust me, Sophia," he said quietly as he continued to hold my hand, "I would never let anything happen to you, but you need to hear Bishop and Hank out."

"Angel, trust is a hard thing to have when you have no idea what's coming your way," I mumbled, "I'm scared."

"I know, Soph."

He pulled me into his arms and held me tight. My insides felt like mush and my heart was beating rapidly, but somehow the panic dissipated slightly as I lost myself in his arms. He smelled good. The mix of cigarette smoke and his deodorant soothed me and I didn't want him to let me go.

"Angel..."

He looked down at me, waiting for me to say something more and instead, I stood up on my tip-toes and kissed him on the cheek. I wanted him to know that no matter what was coming my way, I trusted him implicitly.

He looked down at me, about to say something and I put a finger to his lips. "I trust you Angel."

He gave me a small smile and led me through the clubhouse and to the table. I walked into church behind Angel reluctantly and everyone's head turned to look at me. Coco, Bishop, Taza, Riz, Creeper, Gilly, her Uncle Hank, all eyes were on me and I felt incredibly intimidated. Angel wrapped his arm around my waist and rested hand on my hip as he led me to an empty chair.

"It's ok, Soph," Angel whispered in my ear, "We just wanna talk."

He sat down beside me and rested his hand innocently on my thigh to reassure me.

"Thank you for coming, Sophia," Bishop said, "I know this is unusual, but we need to ask a favor of you and we are fairly certain that you are not going to like it."

I looked over at Angel and then over at my Uncle Hank as panic rushed through my veins. They couldn't possibly want to ask me to put myself in danger for the club and I was sure that Hank wouldn't approve of it.

"We have been holding the sex trafficker in a secret holding facility just outside of Santo Padre," Uncle Hank began to explain, "We have been going out there every day for the last two weeks to try and get answers, but he refuses to talk. Aside from that, however, we have also been trying to treat the gun shot wound that Coco inflicted on the son of a bitch, but the medication has run out and the wound is infected."

"So why does this involve me?" I questioned, trying not to glare at Hank.

"We have someone across the border in Mexico that is able to provide us with the medication we need," Bishop continued, "but we need someone to play doctor."

"That's where you come in..." Coco said reluctantly.

"Are you fucking kidding me?" I exclaimed as I gripped the side of the table, "Like hell! Let him die, Bish...he killed my mom and dad and he tried to rape me. I'm not fucking doing it!"
