Sophia's Point of View

Later that night I sat at the bar in the clubhouse staring down at the three journals I had taken from my mom's house. Hank, Angel, and EZ decided go out and get a drink and some food before calling it a night. I explained to them that it had been a hard day for me and that I just wanted to spend some time alone. I told EZ I would wait for him at the clubhouse.

While I waited, I opened the third journal and flipped through the pages until I found my mom's Last Will and Testament closer to the back. I unfolded it and read through it carefully. Sure enough, she had left me a little over one hundred thousand dollars. I could go to medical school, but I wasn't sure if that was something I still wanted to do. There were so many things I could do with the money, but I had to make sure it was something meaningful because that was one of my mother's wishes.

"Hey beautiful."

I folded up the Will and turned on my stool to smile at EZ. "Hey yourself."

"Everything ok?" he asked before kissing me softly on the nose.

"Did Hank say anything to you tonight?" I asked curiously.

"We were just concerned about you," EZ replied, "He wouldn't go into details, but he said you had a hard day."

I nodded as I pulled the letter from my mom out of my pocket and slid it across the bar towards him. He looked at me for a moment before he picked up the piece of paper and unfolded it. I reached for his hand and held it as he read through the letter. It took him a few minutes to get through, but as he got to the bottom of the letter he had pulled me closer to him and when he finished he pulled me into his arms and held me close.

"Fuck..." he whispered, "This is good news, but it is shocking news. I can't imagine what you have been feeling. Are you sure you're ok?"

"I'm ok, I promise," I replied, "I would feel even better if you kissed me."

He smirked at me before closing the space between us.

"All you had to do was ask."

He pressed his lips against mine in a passionate kiss. My arms wrapped around him as my eyes closed. His lips, soft and warm, ignited a raging flame inside me. I lost myself in the moment, which was broken quickly when Coco and Angel walked into the clubhouse, making a loud raucous as they entered. I groaned slightly as EZ pressed his forehead against mine and grinned at me.

"To be continued?" he questioned.

I nodded with a roll of my eyes. "I'm sorry."

"Don't be." He rubbed his nose against mine and then pulled away from me reluctantly.

I looked over at Coco and Angel and smiled at them, happy to see them both. I caught a flash of something in Angel's eyes, however, that I couldn't quite decipher. It almost looked like desire, regret, or maybe it was a wishful look, like he wanted to be in EZ's shoes. Based on the events of the day, I was clearly in a delusional state because the look disappeared from his face just as fast as it had appeared.

Reaching over to take the letter from EZ's hand, I folded it and slipped it back in my pocket. I slipped the Will back into the third journal and stacked the books on top of one another.

"Hey Angel, I have a couple things I have to do for Bishop tonight," EZ stated, "Would you be able to take Sophia to Hank's for me? I think she's had enough for one day."

"Yeah, I don't mind," Angel replied, "You ready to head home?"

"Yeah, but it's no rush," I replied, "Take your time."
