New Soldiers

  Layla's P.O.V: I sat in my room , listening to some music, when I thought I heard a knock on the door. Must be the music, I thought, ignoring the noise.
Knock, knock.
I took off my headphones for a second, paused the music, and listened. Sure enough, I heard the knock again. Woops. I hurried to the door, and saw the source of the disturbance. There was a wimpy-looking, annoyed Darkness dragon waiting at the door. “ It's about time. You have new soldiers to train.”  He spoke quickly, and it took me a second to figure out what he said. When I realized what he said, I asked “ Aren't there more trained generals? I only got my title five months ago.”
“ No one else can train them, not even the King himself. We need them because they have a lot of power, but they just don't know how to use it. They're a couple of Lizarons, but they can be a real claw-ful. The Lizarons will waiting for you in the Training Room.” Before I had a chance to respond, the dragon hurried off down the hallway. I sighed, put away my MP3 and headphones, and headed off to the training room.

  In the Training Room: I went to the door, and cautiously opened it. When I poked my snout through, it was hit with something hard. I recoiled, and rushed into the room to see who hit my snout. They're gonna pay for that.. I thought, looking around the room. There appeared to be no one in there.   I walked around the large, bare stone-walled room. The stone had a greenish tint in some places, but was otherwise a uniform shade of gray. The ceiling lights suddenly turned off, and I stumbled into a punching bag. When the lights turned back on, there I saw two things that looked like bipedal Earthen lizards. One was green and slim, while the other was purple and more heavily built. They appeared to be male and female, respectively. They flashed a mischievous grin, and said “ Greetingsssss. Are you our new trainer?” They spoke at the exact same time.
That's not creepy at all. I thought, examining the lizard-like people. The purple, bigger one hissed to the green, smaller Lizaron. “ Thisssss isss the worssssst one yet, Mido. She hassss no musssssscle!” The lizard-people laughed, a raspy, ugly sound. I almost flinched at their weird laughter, and said in a challenging tone “ No muscle, huh? Let's see about that.” The green Lizaron, now known as Mido, hissed, and got into a battle stance. The purple Lizaron mimicked the green one, and hissed a little louder. I tensed my muscles and swished my tail back and forth, getting ready to pounce or dodge at a moment's notice. My eyes trained on their forms, identifying the slightest movements. I got ready to pounce on them until....
Sssshh..
With a hiss and a shimmer, the overgrown Earthen lizards vanished from sight. I pounced on the empty space they were in before, and fell to the ground.
“ Ssssstupid Draconian! You can't find usssss!” A more masculine voice, probably Mido, hissed. The sound came from a corner in the wall. With eyes trained to seek movement, I saw a barely-detectable shimmer in the corner where the sound came from. Got you, you overgrown lizards. I thought, backing up into a shadowy corner.
“ Ssssscared, little Draconian? ” I heard the more feminine voice, probably the female Lizaron. The taunt almost got me out of the corner to pounce on them, but I kept my cool. I smiled deviously, and answered in a cool voice “ I'm just getting a little energy.” I raised my left forepaw, and all the shadow in the corner leaped into my outstretched paw. The rest of the darkness in the room followed, this time making a sphere around me. I roared, surrounded by dark energy. I suddenly pounced in the corner the Lizarons were in, and they shimmered back into visibility. I clawed them with a claw made of pure shadows, and Mido jumped out of the way, but the larger, purple girl Lizaron was clumsy. She tried to bite the claw I attacked her with, but only bit shadow. I saw some movement out of the corner if my eye, and saw Mido running up to pounce on me. I turned away from the purple Lizaron, and closed my wings around my body. I vanished into my shadow, and saw Mido tackle the space I used to occupy. He overshot himself, though, and accidentally tackle his friend. I leaped back out of my shadow, and said
“ Still not enough?” The two Lizarons hissed, and vanished again. I saw two shimmers in the air go to opposite corners of the room. I slammed my tail on the ground, and several cracks filled with darkness exploded out from under my tail. The tendrils shot up the wall, and tried to grab Mido and the other Lizaron. They succeeded in catching Mido, but not the purple Lizaron. I saw a flash of purple scales, and felt a slash across my back. I whipped around, and saw the female Lizaron. She tackled me, and delivered a few punches. Some shadow tendrils shot up behind my attacker, and snatched her into the air. Unfortunately, those tendrils were the same ones that used to hold Mido back. Mido needed a second to recuperate, and I used that chance to deliver a slash to his abdomen. He hissed, and clutched the place where I scratched him. Shadows in the cut appeared, bubbled, and dissipated. What? He should be a Darkness Lizaron now! I thought, staring at Mido. He laughed, the same, ugly laugh, and hissed “ Ssssstupid Draconian. We don't turn into Darknesssss membersssss when otherssssss would be transsssformed. That'sssss our little ssssecret.” In my surprise, my darkness tendrils loosened their grasp on the purple Lizaron, and she jumped on my back. Her bulky weight was pressing down on my back, but I still managed to bear her weight. Mido swept his tail under my legs, and I fell to the ground, his partner keeping me down with her bulk. Mido laughed again, and hissed to his larger friend 
“ I think we're done here, Asha. Let'ssss go.” The weight on my back jumped off, and I stayed on the ground. The two Lizarons walked silently to the door, leaving me on the floor. I'm not losing that easily, I thought, getting back up. Slowly, I got back on my feet, and laughed dryly. The two Lizarons turned around in shock. I smiled, and said in a cool voice “What, did you think I would let you go so easily?” While the Lizarons were shocked that I was still conscious , I pounced on both of them. I hit them with wave after wave of dark energy, my attacks fueled by rage and adrenaline. When I was finished with them, I jumped off of the two Lizarons. They struggled to get back up, and then plopped back on the ground. “We give, you win.” the purple Lizaron, now known as Asha, said weakly. I smiled, and walked out of the room. Before I closed the door, I said without turning around  “ Meet me here for training, five sharp, every afternoon. See you, you overgrown Earthen lizards.” I closed the door, and flew down the hallway. I greeted a few maids, and kept on flying to my room. There, I plopped down on the couch, and turned on my laptop. I went on Tumblr, turned on the wubs, and relaxed.
You've still got it Layla. You've still got it. I thought to myself, pleased with my work today.
