"no no no no. no. oh my god. no." the man says to himself while moving his hands frantically, he rummaged through his desk drawer. he was searching for something. something important.
"no way.. don't tell me i've-"
"hoon-ah!" he hears as his ears twitch slightly. it's soonyoung. he quickly started to pack his things for his leave later.
soonyoung pokes his head out of the door of their room and looked into the room, scanning for his boyfriend. he stares at the other who was busy compiling some papers on his desk.
"what're you even doing?" he asks, curious.
"work."
"that's ridiculous, hoon-ah. we don't even have to work in this world. that's what makes it great. right?" jihoon frowns at what he just heard. he didn't like it. it has been months ever since they entered this world and soonyoung is starting to get more and more comfortable knowing this is all another world. he more soonyoung adjusts to the environment, the more likely he would be stuck here. and of course, jihoon wants to avoid this from happening.
"jihoon-ah.. i've noticed something about you.."
"and what is that?" the shorter turned in his chair to face his boyfriend.
"you're.. different. so different from before. you were always flustered and shy, very cheerful too. though it seemed a little unnatural for some reason. this is more like the real you."
"i- i still am, aren't i?"
"well, i guess it was just the way you acted..the vibes.. were really different." soonyoung says, slumping into the chair beside jihoon's. he looks at the other side of the room, avoid eye contact with the other. this all felt, weird. addressing the differences from just a few weeks ago and now just felt weird for him. when his friends were still here, everything felt like reality. now that his friends have left this world, he doesn't even remember their names properly.
he knew he had to get out of this place. but, he also didn't want to face whatever is supposed to "real". staying in this world is slowly becoming a guilty pleasure of his. he wants to change, but he becomes frantic whenever jihoon mentions about the real world and especially when jihoon leaves for days.
"soonyoung-ah."
soonyoung hums in response as jihoon just stared at the other, who was still staring at the wall. to jihoon, soonyoung looked beautiful, ethereal almost. he could stare at the other for hours. looking at soonyoung and calling out his name makes him feel fuzzy inside sometimes. he would never want to stop feeling this way. and honestly, he had nothing to say. he just felt like calling out his boyfriends name. 'we need to leave, soon.' he thinks to himself.
"nothing. i just.. felt like it"
"felt like what?"
"calling your name."
-
"oh thank the lord. it's here." jihoon sighs in relief as he holds onto a paper with writings all over it. if he lost this piece of paper, he would lose all contact with the other world literally forever, just within a week. and that means he would lose soonyoung, too.
"hyung?" jihoon quickly keeps the small piece of paper and turns his head to the source of the voice.
"mingyu." jihoon says, looking at the younger.
"what are you doing here? is he back too?"
"no, not yet."
"hyung.. why can't he leave? is there something wrong with him?"
"i don't know. that is why i need to open the portal manually for him." jihoon walks past mingyu to leave his room and to the simulation room downstairs.
"but thats too-" before mingyu could even finish his sentence, he turned around to see the other gone already.
"-dangerous."
