Chapter 7: Bad Boy

It was Monday which mean I needed to be ready for school, although I'm sure I can even focus on school right now given what occurred on Friday

Somehow I got myself involved my brother's street racing activities

I was really glad that he told me the truth about everything and I would keep his secret from Dad because if he found out then we would both be in trouble

Chris would in a lot more trouble than I would be of course, he's participating in illegal street racing and is a part of a street racing crew, there's absolutely no way that Dad would ever be okay with what Chris does even if he's doing it for me

Over the course of the weekend, I told Phoenix everything and made sure she didn't tell anyone else as well, Phoenix was ecstatic about all I told her but she agreed to keep quiet about it.

Chris also told me what had happened after we both went home on Friday after the race, that Akira was now the newest member of the Midnight Racers, I was shocked of course as to why Akira would be allowed to join up with the crew after what he tried to do last night against Chris and Ryder. 

Chris then told me that the crew needed someone that was willing to break rules and do whatever it takes to win, Ryder was super pissed by it and got into a fight with Akira. There wasn't anything he could really do about it in the end because Tyson stood by his decision.

I wondered if he was gonna show up to school today, maybe he's still too angry to want to come to school

I really hoped that Ryder was going to be in school today, he's really mysterious in his own way, this was the first time that I've ever felt about anyone this way.

I didn't have the best track record when it came to dating, I wasn't in the best mindset to be dating not after mom's death, it just didn't feel right. I've had boys asking me out a few times before but I always politely declined, my mind and heart just wasn't in it and now here I am being infatuated with a boy that I barely knew.

After Chris dropped both of us off, I quickly went to my first class but I was disappointed that Ryder wasn't there, I'd hoped he was just a few minutes late but I was proven otherwise after the bell rang and attendance was being taken.

I guess I'll have to ask Chris if he knew where Ryder was, he knew him better than I did after all.

After 3rd period, it was time for lunch and I figured that I'd go and find Chris, I had talked to Phoenix earlier but we couldn't really go much into the details of what we both knew considering we were in class at the time

I spotted Chris by one of the vending machines and walked towards him

"Hey" I greeted my brother

He saw me and smiled
"Hey"

"You still leaving for lunch?" I asked

"Nah, don't really feel like it today" Chris shook his head

"So have you heard from Ryder? He didn't show up to class today" I cut right to the chase

"Really? I thought he was in class"

I shook my head
"He never showed up"

Chris sighed
"I guess he's still pissed off about this Akira thing, not that I can blame him"

"What about you, how do you feel about Akira joining the crew now?" I asked
