Chapter 10: Lights and Sirens

It was another Friday night for me as I laid back down on my bed, Tyson didn't need me to go to the garage for anything at the moment

A week had passed since I made amends with Akira although I didn't personally do anything to him, that was more Ryder and Tyson but someone needed to break the ice so might as well be me

So I found Akira later that day and I pretty much apologized to him, it honestly wasn't as awkward as I thought it was gonna be, Akira said that he appreciated my apology but stated that I didn't need to apologize for anything

It was nice to know that Akira didn't have a personal problem with me like he did with Ryder

I wanted to talk to him about Nadia but I decided against it, I didn't want to pry and plus I hardly knew Akira

Nadia was out hanging with Phoenix for the night and Dad was working as usual so it was just me at home by myself

I should be worried about Dad's case, right?

He was being tasked with tracking down and locking up the Midnight Racers which included me so if my own father had to arrest his own son for participating in illegal street racing and stealing cars to sell them up, anybody that knew us would never look at us that same

I may have had my disagreements with Dad lately but that doesn't mean that I want to humiliate him if he ever arrested me and the crew

Of course, if the time ever did come where Dad finds out, I needed to make sure that Nadia's name was kept out of this, she shouldn't have to go down for something like this especially when she could be tied to this as an accomplice

It would go on her permanent record which would damage her chances of getting into college

I loved my sister and I would do anything for her, I wasn't particularly happy with just out of nowhere deciding to tell Nadia about my other life without consulting me first but I guess she was gonna find out sooner or later, no way I was gonna be able to hide this from her forever. I was eventually gonna tell her, I just always chickened out every time, truth be told, I was afraid of how Nadia would react

I sighed as I continued to ponder over the hypotheticals of my Dad possibly finding out that his son was a criminal one day

The next thing I know, I get a call from Tyson saying that he needed me back at the garage, the crew was meeting up with another buyer

And apparently Akira was coming as well

So either Akira didn't take no for an answer or Tyson finally came to his senses and decided to give Akira a little bit of his trust

I just hoped that Ryder and Akira could keep their emotions in check

The meeting officially started when I arrived

"So we meeting up with another buyer?" Mia asked

"Yes, the Jameson brothers, they've asked to meet with us in an hour from now" Tyson said

"Are we buying or selling?" Ryder asked
