Ryder had invited me to the meeting with the crew, Chris managed to convince Tyson that I was trustworthy and I was allowed to stay, I only told one person about everything and it was Phoenix
She was my best friend after all, there's no way that I could've possibly kept this from her
I also had no intentions on telling anybody in the crew, including Ryder and Chris, that Phoenix knew. I didn't want to put her in danger, sure the crew trusted me so far, but I couldn't say the same for Phoenix so I feel that this is the right thing to do right now
The meeting that the crew were called upon was about another deal that they'd be doing, apparently they'd be meeting with a dealer later today, they were intending on selling a car that the crew had stolen
This is still crazy to even comprehend, I'm practically associated with criminals here!
This was extremely risky given that me and Chris were the children of one of Miami's best detectives, we could accidentally lead our father here one day, I was playing a dangerous game.
I wasn't like Chris, he was afraid of anything and I'm certain that he wasn't afraid of facing up against our dad if the time ever came.
"You're still here"
I was brought out of my thoughts by a voice and I turned to see the one person I didn't want to talk to
Akira
I was about to respond but I decided to give him the cold shoulder and ignore him
Akira scoffs and shook his head, chuckling
"What's the matter, Princess, don't wanna talk to me?"
"I thought that was obvious" I retorted
Akira sat down next to me
"Well too bad because I'm the only one here"
"Where's everybody else?" I asked
"They're meeting with the buyer"
"Aren't you suppose to be there? You're the newest member of the crew"
"Tyson decided to bench me for this, it's complete BS, I'm a Midnight Racer now and I can't even attend a meeting with a buyer" Akira scoffs
"Sounds like Tyson doesn't fully trust you yet" I stated
"Should've known this was gonna happen, Tyson's always making it difficult for me"
"Serves you right" I said loud and clearly, wanting Akira to hear me
Akira chuckled and laughs
"Look, Nadia, I know that you think I'm the biggest asshole on the planet and maybe you're right but I'm not a bad guy, you just don't know me"
"You shot at my brother and played dirty against Ryder so forgive me for thinking you're a jackass" I rolled my eyes
"Maybe I did but I'm not gonna apologize for that, you must know that everyone in this crew is out for themselves right? Including your brother"
As much as I hated to admit it, he wasn't entirely wrong, I doubt that anyone here in the crew considered each other to be friends
Well maybe Ryder and Chris do
