Chapter 8: The Assassin of the Mist!

Then Naruto stab the back of his wounded hand with his kunai. "No!" Naruto shouted.

Naruto caught the others' attentions.

"I'm not gonna run away from this! This is the first mission that I really want. I'm not the same kid and prankster that I use to be! I'm a ninja! I'll protect the old man with my life if it means my death!" Naruto said.

"Naruto, I love your speech and all but..." Makoto starts.

"You're going to lose a lot of blood and die. Seriously," Kakashi finish with a close eye smile.

Naruto started to panic. "Ah! Somebody! Make it stop! I don't want to die young from this!!"

"Naruto! What were you thinking?!" Sakura said. "You have a serious problem! It's call masochist."

Makoto run towards Naruto and started to bandage Naruto's injure hand. Then Makoto soon realize that Naruto's hand was already healing on its own.

Naruto notice the look on Makoto's face in deep thought. "Um...Mako, you have a serious look on your face. Am I going to be okay?" Naruto said nervously.

Makoto blinked and look at Naruto. "Oh, yes. You're going to be alright."

'It's probably the Nine Tailed Fox that the Hokage told me about,' Makoto thought.

Soon, they got to the boat with the boatman. They are crossing the water by rowing the boat through the thick fog. It was silence for a while until Tazuna speak up.

 "Sensei, we need to talk," Tazuna said.

"You got that right," Makoto agree.

 "It's about the mission."

Kakashi nodded to Tazuna to continue.

"You are right about this mission being out of your duties. It turns out to be a mission that involves dangerous situation. And that someone is trying to take my life.

"Hm, who is it?" Kakashi asked.

"You probably heard of his name before. He's the leader of a wealthy shipping magnate, a man named Gatou."

Makoto blinked and tilted her head to the left. "Gatou? Do you mean that puny man with mini glasses?"

Sakura couldn't help but snicker when she said that.

'Makoto sometimes love to joke around once and a while just for the heck of it; I guess she still hasn't lost her sense of humor,' Sasuke thought.

"Isn't he from the Gatou Company? I heard he was one of a few that's extremely wealthy," Kakashi said.

Tazuna nodded. "Yes, he owns a large shipping company. But he's secretly selling drugs and other illegal materials by using ninjas and gang members to take over businesses and countries. He's a nasty man."

Makoto snorted and crossed her arms. "What a heartless bastard. Up to no good; I'll kill him without a second thought if I see him."

Tazuna let out a small laugh. "I like the way you think, kid."

 Makoto smirk. "Thanks."

"That's Makoto for you. Always act without a plan," Kakashi said.

"Hey!" Makoto shout angrily.

Kakashi shrugged. "Well, it's half the truth."

Makoto look away stubbornly. "Hmph."

Makoto hate it when others correct her or tell her the truth, even half-truth that makes her feel insulted even though the meaning of her name does means "truth".
