Chapter 27: Eat or Be Eaten: Panic In the Forest

"Ha! Last chance to hand over the scroll," said the rain shinobi.

"We're not handing over the scroll," Sasuke said.

The rain shinobi took out a kunai and charge at them. They dodge.

Sasuke did hand signs and shout, "Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!"

The rain shinobi dodge Sasuke's attack.

Makoto quickly did hand sign with her left hand, and lightning starts emitting from her right hand. "Lightning Blade!"

Makoto attack the rain shinobi. The rain shinobi tries to block Makoto's attack, but only for the lightning to shock him.

"Gah! Damn it!" The rain shinobi try to flee.

"Come back here!" Makoto chase after the rain shinobi.

"Makoto!" Sasuke chase after Makoto and the rain shinobi.

The rain shinobi stop and throws kunais at Sasuke and Makoto. Sasuke and Makoto jump back to dodge, but then the rain shinobi throw a kunai with an exploding tag.

"An exploding tag!!" Sasuke shouted.

As the exploding tag explode, Sasuke and Makoto end getting blowing away. Makoto end up falling on Naruto.

"Gah!" Naruto shout in pain.

"Naruto?"

"Mako? That hurts!"

"Sorry." Makoto stand up and help Naruto up.

The rain shinobi appears behind Sasuke with a kunai. "Lucky me. If you move, I'll kill you." Then he demand, "Hand over the scroll quietly."

"Sasuke!" Sakura shouted.

Sasuke smirks. The rain shinobi was confused to why, then he sense Naruto and Makoto. Naruto and Makoto appear. The rain shinobi dodge the kunai that Naruto throw at him.

"You're not getting away!" Naruto shouted.

'You're always late, Naruto!' Sasuke thought. Sasuke activate his Sharigan then he levitated a kunai under his feet and swings his leg around and shoots the kunai at the rain shinobi.

The rain shinobi manage to dodge it. That gives Sasuke a chance to charge towards him and plunge him on the chest.

"Sasuke!"

"Don't just stand there, Sakura! He may not be alone. If you let your guard down, you're going to really die!" Sasuke kick the rain shinobi away.

"Damn it! Coming alone is a bad idea!" The rain shinobi flee.

After that battle, team 7 sits down in a circle.

"There's a possibility the enemy will transform into one of us and approach," Sasuke stated.

"How are we going to clarify it if it's truly us?" Sakura asked.

"Hm...We need to come up with a password if we get separated. Everyone, listen carefully, okay, because I'm only going to say this once."

Makoto and the others nodded.

"Okay. When asked, 'When does a ninja strike?' The answer: a ninja waits until the time is right. When the enemy sleeps and drops his guard. When his weapons lay forgotten in the stillness of the night. That is the moment for a ninja to strike." Then Sasuke ask, "Got it memorized?"

"Got it," Sakura said with a nod.

Naruto rub the back of his head nervously. "Um...you got any shorter one?"
