Chapter 18: A Change of Personality

On the road to Konoha...

"So..." Sakura start.

"Yeah?" Makoto said.

"You're not going to wear your mask and headband like Kakashi-sensei anymore?"

"No; why?"

"I was just curious...What change your mind?"

"I made a bet with Sasuke."

"What was the bet?"

"Well...if either of us cry on the mission, we have to do what the other says. As you can see, Sasuke say I...can't hide my face anymore."

"Aw~ But you're so cute~!"

Makoto blushed. "Sakura~" Makoto whine.

"I'm sorry, but I'm only stating the truth. And remember the time when we were chasing after Sasuke? Ino fell into a mud hole." Sakura laughed. "It was so funny!"

"Then you end up in a mud hole too."

"So did you. But you know what; you were so cute getting dirty like that~"

Makoto blushed more. "Sakura~ you're embarrassing me."

Sakura smiled. "Makoto...thank you..."

"For what...?"

"For...For being my best friend...and always looking out for me...and..."

Sakura and Makoto stop on their track. Makoto hug Sakura.

Sakura let a surprise gasp. "Makoto..."

"I should be thanking you..."

"What for...?"

"For being my best friend...and for just being you..."

"Just...being me? What is that supposed to be mean?!"

The guys stop on their track and look back to see the girls. Makoto rub the back of her head and laugh nervously.

Makoto clear her throat. "Just remember...no matter what happens, I'll be there for you and I'll always love you; no homo."

An animesweatdrop appears on Sakura's head. 'She is just like the Makoto I remember from the academy...before the incident.' Sakura smiled. "No homo."

As soon as they got back to Konoha...

Makoto took a deep breath. "Whelp; I'm gonna head to Ichiraku-"

"Wait! You forgotten something," Sakura said.

"Hm?" Makoto turn around to face them. "No I didn't."

Sasuke sighed. "You said you'll tell us your ninja rank once the mission is complete. The mission is complete, now spill it."

"Alright, alright. Will you two believe that I'm an ANBU?"

Sasuke and Sakura's eyes widen in surprise. "You're an ANBU?!"

"What did I tell ya? Mako is an elite ninja; believe it!"

"Oh I believe it alight...that you need to stop saying that!" Sakura hit Naruto on the head.

Makoto let out a laughed. "I'll see you guys later. Ramen, here I come!" Makoto starts running her way to Ichiraku.

"Wait for me, Mako!" Naruto run after Makoto.

'Oh no he don't!' Sasuke run after Naruto who's running after Makoto.
