Chapter 36

Chapter 36: More Than One

In a cave, there is an underground lake. That cave also contains an entity with a form of a human girl that is trap behind a barrier. In the underground lake, Makoto, who is unconscious, appears to be floating in the water. Soon, she regains conscious and quickly swims up to the surface. Once she reaches to the surface, she cough out some water and tries to catch her breath.

Makoto look around her surroundings. "Where is this place?" She saw dry land just a couple ft. from where she is. Once she got to dry land, she didn't feel wet. Her clothes were dry as the water was just an illusion. "I'm dry."

On the dry land is a small land with sands. Further ahead are a cliff and a bridge that connect it to that leads to a double heavy door with sealing symbols in a circle.

"This is weird," Makoto commented.

Makoto walks up to the cliff, and stares at the bridge then at the double heavy door with sealing symbols in a circle. She took a deep breath then continues on her way. The bridge was stable and still.

"I wonder where Amaterasu is," Makoto said, looking around, hoping to see Amaterasu. Once she reaches the other side, she try to open the double heavy door with sealing symbols in a circle. But it was futile to try to open the door manually since it was seal.

Amaterasu appears behind Makoto. She sees what Makoto was trying to do, and a bead of sweat appears on her head in unamused.

"Come...on..." Makoto said as she struggle get the door open.

Amaterasu walk up to Makoto. "What are you doing?"

"Trying to get this door open," Makoto replied. She stops what she was doing, and turns around to face Amaterasu. "Amaterasu!" she exclaimed in relief. She run up to Amaterasu and hugs her.

Amaterasu laugh at Makoto's reaction. "What is it, child?"

Makoto separate herself from Amaterasu, and asked, "Why have you been quiet?"

Amaterasu look like she didn't want to say anything. It's like she knows something, but doesn't know whether to come out with it or not. "There is something you were born with. I've been keeping it at bay."

"Wait a minute..." Makoto was getting a feeling like she knows what Amaterasu was talking about. "Are you telling me there's more than one entity-like inside me?"

"That's right," Amaterasu said.

Makoto's shoulders slump. "You have got to be kidding me," she said with a groan.

"I am not kidding, child," Amaterasu said.

Makoto stand straight. "Okay then, show me proof."

Amaterasu walk up to the heavy double door and mumble a chant, then the seal on the heavy double door disappear, and the heavy double door open. She led Makoto deeper inside the cave. The other side of the cave is long and a little narrow, but could fit five people. The room is lit up by the torches on the two walls, leading only to a straight direction to a door that connects to another room. Without any delay, Amaterasu and Makoto continue on their way inside the cave and enter the next room. In the other room is a wide and big area fills with water, and only a bridge is keeping them on dry land. The bridge is wooden and in an "F" shape. They are on the end of the wooden "F shape bridge. The whole room is filled with blue color due to the water.

As they continue their way to the other room, Makoto couldn't help but be fascinated with the cave. In the middle of the bridge, Amaterasu stop on their track which causes Makoto to do the same.
