I feel like I shouldn't like this movie based on its scathing reviews, but the movie wasn't half as bad as everyone makes it out to be.
The movie is based on a six book fantasy series which I have yet to read. With this in mind I have nothing to compare it too, so I do not know how similar or different the two are to each other.
But for what I saw, the movie was still pretty good.

The beginning of the movie was very fast paced. Many things were happening all at once, but it was never really hard to follow. The opening scene hooks you in straight away with an EPIC DRAGON BATTLE. What's not to love.
As the movie progressed I was really enjoying it. The locations were beautiful, as always and most of the characters were great. Making the ship great as well.

But Arren was...really weird. His faces were weird. He's just weird. He was dreaming with his eyes open, then he just passed out. Actually, why is he always just passing out? You see, weird. And why is he always so angry? He appears to lack emotion, but is still constantly crabby.

The main Antagonist is one of the scariest things I have ever seen. He also sounds creepy. He almost never actually speaks either. Everything that he says is merely whispered. This makes him a great villain.

The ending scene was, a little underwhelming, to put it lightly. With everything that happened prior to final few scenes, there was so much anticipation for a massive fight between good and evil at the end, but there wasn't. Sadly.

Also, I don't get why Therru is a dragon. It may be from the book series, but in the movie, it was provided with no context. And because she was a dragon, she obviously saved everyone. And the whole dragon transformation seemed a little random. Sure, at the beginning of the movie we see dragons, but never again until human Therru becomes dragon Therru.

But the rest of the movie was an amazing fantasy film filled with adventure.
I was one of those people who thought the movie would be terrible because the reviews were terrible, but the movie was actually really good.
