Chapter 9

Bonnie Bennett POV

My eyes were still, on the couple in front of me. Edward was just starry-eyed at the carbon copy of my best friend. I was in a bit of tailspin as he kissed her sweetly on the lips and her responding to it made his pure white teeth shine as his crooked smile appeared. 'Where did he find her? What was he thinking when he saw this woman?' I thought. Edward gently threw some dollar bills on their table then, wrapped his arm around her waist. As they were about to leave, he turned back to look at us with a slight frown on his face. Which made his date look back at us too she was confused for a moment, looking back at the bronze haired vampire. She must have said something because he shook his head at her then, proceeded to guide her outside.

"Well...that was...weird", said Damon. Breaking the odd tension between all of us.
"Yes...yes it was. How could there be another doppelganger?", I turned to the rest of the group, "Solar, didn't mention she had a family before she turned", I said.
"It could be possible. I mean we didn't think that Katherine had any family before she became a vampire. Yet, here I am", replied Elena.
"I guess so. But that doesn't explain why she is wining and dining with a Cullen. Especially, Edward", I said bitterly.
"We have to find out ourselves who that girl is", said Stefan with determination in his voice.
All of us agreed in chorus. Thus, spending the rest of our time at "The Grill" planning out how we were going to confront this new Doppelganger.

Delilah POV

My soul felt like it was uplifted and finally complete because my mate, my other half is with me now. His arms wrapped around my waist as we laid on the bed together with no words exchanged between us. Except for the low sound of purring coming from deep within his chest. A sound that only a mate can make for his true mate. But I could help to wonder who those people were at the restaurant. Their thoughts were filled with memories of Solar and negative emotions towards my Edward. The two that stood out to me was the vampire with blonde eyes and emerald green eyes. And the other was the pretty dark-skinned girl with long black hair. Both were the most intense out all of them because their thoughts were filled with a picture of an urn and echoes of crying. In addition, to flashes of them going through the stages of grief. I felt bad for them of course. There was no question the impact Solar had made on this little town as well as, my mate's family, and my father's family. But those feelings came with my need to prove to everyone that I wasn't her. I may look like her and perhaps unconsciously act like her. However, I am not her. I am me; I am Delilah Mikealson.

As I was thinking of such things Edward's strong arms pulled me closer to the cold planes of his body. And burying his face in my hair, taking in the scent that only a mate can sense. I shivered as he kissed the crook of my neck then, my shoulder.

"I love you, Delilah Mikealson, Forever and Always", he whispered in my ear.
I smiled, blushing at his confession of love for me. I knew that Edward meant what he said because in the back of my mind I could feel him pushing away all the negative thoughts that I brought on myself. Replacing it with the memories of him and I through his point of view. I turned around to look at the golden eyes that were looking at me. I smiled as the love and adoration were directed at me as he moved closer to me so that his forehead was against mine.
"And I love you with all my heart, Edward Cullen", I replied. Softly kissing his lips. He placed his hand on my cheek, gently caressing it.
"Go to sleep, my Love. We have all the time in the world to get each other", he kissed my lips again passionately then, pulled away, "And love each other for all eternity", he said. Kissing my forehead.
"Good night, my angel", I said to him as I snuggled closer to his body. I smiled as the odd warmth of Edward surrounded me as my mind drifted off into a deep sleep.

*The next Morning*

A few hours have passed since I woke up in Edward's arms. As well as, saying our goodbyes as he and his family left to go hunting. I sighed as I waved at my mate and new family members had gotten in their cars, driving out of the driveway. 'I guess it's time for me to go out and explore this town' I thought to myself. Using my vampire speed, I ran to my room dressed up in a simple white lace dress that reached just above my knees. I matched it with a navy-blue ribbon around my neck that was held together with a gold pin that had the Mikaelson's coat of arms embossed on it. As for the final touch I picked out a red wine jacket and black heels. It was a nice simple look for exploring the town I didn't think I needed to go all out with my hair and makeup. So, I pushed my hair to the side then, lined my eyes with black eyeliner with some mascara and a soft red lipstick to top it all off. I twirled around in the mirror admiring my whole outfit that was cute yet conservative enough for me to go out.

"Let's have a fun day shall we", I said to myself. I stepped out of my room to Uncle Klaus' garage that had many sports cars and antique cars that any man could dream of. However, I settled on a silver Lamborghini that looked like it could hold a trunk full of shopping. Thanks to Dad's black credit card that was sitting in my small shoulder bag. I grabbed the key off the wall, unlocking the car and sitting in the driver's seat. I smiled at myself with excitement flowing through me as the garage door opened and excited out of the driveway.

I was enjoying the scenery of Mystic Falls passed me by as well as, the houses and shops that I drove past. It wasn't until I reached the town's square that I started to look for a parking spot. There wasn't much to say when random people from the sidewalk stared at the luxury car that parked at the side of the road. The same could have been said when they saw a 'teenage' girl step out of the car. I internally laughed as every man and the teenage boys looked at me shamelessly as I locked the car. It was amusing to hear the amount of mindless yet, sexual thoughts that were directed at me. In addition, to the jealous thoughts of their significant others. However, their thoughts were easiest to block out as I walked down the sidewalk to the closest bookshop first. Since the bookshelf, I had at home was only a quarter filled with books that I had collected on my travels.

The smell of old books was the first scent that hit me first as I stepped in. It was amazing at the number of books that had been collected by the old lady that was sitting behind the cash register. She greeted me with a gentle smile. "Welcome to Martha's bookshop! It is odd seeing a young lady like yourself in a shop like this", she said.
I smiled at her. "My father taught me that the best stories are written by the people who lived before, us. And your shop is absolutely filled with them", I said with wonder as I looked around.
Martha laughed, "Well your father is not wrong about that. Please, my dear, feel free to look around and see what catches your eyes", she said. Smiling.
I thanked her as I made my way down the first aisle of books that was in front of me.

It was only an hour or so that had passed when a small selection of books had been collected in my hands. A collection that I planned to read and share with Edward later when he comes back. Nonetheless, I was so happy that I didn't notice that there was a person in front of me causing me to fall right on my butt. And my precious books fall on the floor which, caused me to pout. I took a deep breath before, getting up and starting to collect my books all over again. That was when I saw another pair of hands helping me. I looked up to see that blonde hair vampire with the green eyes staring at me.
