pain danced across kole's skin as she limped home. yet a smile held on her busted, bloody lips. bruises littered her arms. scraps and scratches kissed her skin. her eyelashes fluttered over a black eye. kole had her board tucked under her arm, along with her backpack.

she hadn't noticed the losers club jump from the tree and make an escape, but she knew they were safe. that was all that mattered to her.

she walked up cherry street, her hips swaying as she did so. her house was in a rather colorful neighborhood. pale yellow house with bright green grass. the aesthetic was everything kole wasnt.

rounding the final street corner, kole noticed a few bodies laying on the soft grass of her yard. they were sprawled out, gazing at the sunset. four boys and a girl.

"oh no —not you guys," kole joked as her boots trudged over the grass. beverly smiled as she sat up off the grass. bill and stan copying her actions. richie was too busy bugging eddie with his faux british accent for him to notice kole's arrival. though the boy in the white sweater noticed right away. his doe eyes lingered on her body, even if his ears were devoted to his best friend.

he noticed her black and blue face. the painful artwork displayed on her skin. eddie jumped up to his feet to get to her. his cold hands touched her face, making her melt into his baby brown eyes. she craved the gentle touch. her body turned into his hand.

"kole..." he murmured. the girl laughed and picked at a new scab on her bottom lip. "why did you-"

"you should see henry," she grinned, picturing his swollen cheek bone and broken nose. not to mention that she had kneed him where the sun don't shine. when he bent down holding his crouch, kole lifted her knee up to his face. ruby gems of crimson leaking immediately.

"i can't believe you did that for us," bev whispered gently, placing her hand on koles shoulder. she tried her best not to wince away from the loving gesture.

"why wouldn't i?"

"yuh-you just met us," bill shrugged, standing next to the girl who dared to kiss the blazing flame of fire.

"so?"

eddie stared in awe at the girl. he grabbed her hand and led her up to her door. her lip had began to bleed, eddie noticed while he was admiring. the blood had trickled down her chin, cascading down her neck. kole licked her bottom lick. longing for the taste of iron.

"lets get you cleaned up."

"i like this look, its sick. what? you don't like it eddie?" kole teased, grabbing the spare key from her backpack. her parents werent home. they werent often. "come on in."

the rest of them jumped up the steps of the porch, waltzing inside the foreign home.

"its not that i don't like it kole, you're bleeding. thats all..." eddie sighed. the blonde chuckled, letting her bag fall to the floor of the living room. her back screamed in pleasure as it cracked.

"you worry too much," kole started to walk to her bathroom. eddie followed much like a lost puppy.

"no i don't."

kole rolled her eyes and pulled herself up to the counter. she sat down on the marble and opened the second drawer down using her foot.

"fix me up doc."

eddie pulled out some bandages and hydrogen peroxide. his face flushed pink at the nickname. shoving his sleeves up, eddie poured some of the peroxide onto a crumbled up piece of toilet paper.

"this is-" eddie began to speak.

"going to hurt?" the boy was taken aback, and before he pressed the damp cotton to kole's cuts he looked up at her. "not my first fight."

he nodded and proceed to clean and dissect the wounds. kole winced every so often. she started a storm of curses and yelps. eddies apologies played with the storm like wind. he didn't want to hurt her even more than she was.

"thank you.. for doing this eddie."

eddie cleaned up his mess of used toilet paper and trash. not before placing a pastel bandage across the bridge of kole's nose to cover up her worst cut. the colorful band aids decorated her knuckles as well.

"you're welcome," he hummed, smiling up at her. kole hoped off of the counter, ruffling eddie's grown out shaggy hair. the two were the same height. around five foot eight.

"lets go party," kole laughed, dragging eddie out of the bathroom and into the living room.
