"its not that hard eddie," kole rolled her eyes as she gently pushed the boy on the skateboard. he desperately grabbed onto her soft hands. both for comfort and balance.

"it is kole!" she had been trying to teach him for the past hour. the sun was setting down the green hills. sending a shiver of color down the horizon. kole interlocked her fingers of both hands with his. the sets of fingers fit together.

she began to walk forward, letting eddie trail behind her. his fingers gripped onto the old and dirty band aids on koles knuckles.

"you're doing just fine eds," the blonde walked faster down the street, sending the wheels to turn at a quicker pace. the boy blushed at the nickname. he hated nicknames. unless they were coming from her.

the two came to a halt. giving eddie a break from the activity. eddie hopped off of the board and sat on the curb where they had stopped. he dried his clammy hands on the jean material of his pants. then proceeded to hide his palms in the sleeve of his purple sweater. something he always did. the long sleeve matched his socks.

kole sat next to him. the exposed skin below her overalls rubbed up against the raw edges of the curb. her blonde hair flowed lightly in the breeze. eddie stole a peak at the girl. he admired her face in the golden hues of daylight they still had left. his autumn eyes then traveling down and landing on a dark ink master piece on her upper thigh.

"is that, real?" he asked as he poked it, letting his finger linger on her skin. kole looked down to where he had touched her thigh. she smiled.

"yeah," she rolled up her overalls more to show off the tattoo. it was a thin, dark outline of a familiar looking tree. the weeping willow she sat under everyday. "i've also got this one."

she lifted up her left middle finger to reveal a black rose. kole smiled proudly at the art work. she lifted up her shirt to expose her ribcage, eddie looked away with flushed cheeks. he thought she was doing something very different that she actually was.

kole rolled her eyes at him, before lightly grabbing his chin and pulling his gaze back. on her ribcage in small cursive was the word always. next to it was a dainty skeleton hand.

"how do you have all of these? you're only 17," eddie murmured, pulling down koles shirt. his now cold hand left a frigid touch on her skin.

"i have a tattoo gun. but this one-" she gesture towards her ribcage, "i've has since I was 14."

eddie scrunched up his eyebrows. he fidgeted with the hem of his sweater. "how?" he questioned her.

"i know people," kole laughed, her feet on the skateboard. it slid across the pavement. she looked away from the boy for a moment as he contemplated a thought.

kole scooped up a yellow wildflower that was growing with a family by the edge of the curb.

"i want to know people..." eddie pouted. kole laughed at his expression before sliding the flower behind his ear. he flushed pink, looking down from koles gaze. he hated how easily she could make him blush. he couldn't help it.

"that can be arranged."

"really? you'll give me a tattoo?" eddie squeaked, a grin appearing on his lips. he never had the chance to do anything as cool as getting an underage tattoo. the act could be classified as rebelling. he never had rebelled. eddies reputation was as clean as clean could get. he had the reputation his mom wanted him to have. not what he wanted.

kole found the suggestion of giving eddie a tattoo cute. sure she had given them before but not to someone as soft as eddie. the girl returned the smile, before taking a simple chain off from around her neck. it had a lock on it.

"not yet. lets start here okay?" kole answered, putting the necklace on the boy. he reached up to play with the lock. the chain spiced up his pastel outfit.

"who carries the key?"

kole reached into the top of her shirt, and held up another chain. one with a silver key hanging from it.

eddie frowned lightly, still toying with the lock. he rolled up on of his sleeve and took off a colorful bracelet. he grabbed koles hand, and slid the bracelet onto her right wrist.

"i'll have something of yours, and you'll have something of mine."
