"kole come here," richie waved over the girl. kole rolled her eyes to bev, who she had been talking to, before walking over to the boy.

richie stood next to the locker he shared with eddie. kole arrived at the locker, arms crossed.

"yes richard?" the blonde asked, unimpressed.

"look what i found," he nodded toward a crumpled up note. he tugged the paper toward himself. "it must be eddies."

"it's just a piece of paper," kole sighed, going to walk away. richie grabbed her wrist as his eyes danced across the note.

"you might wanna read it," richie breathed out with a light smile.

"its eddies, not meant for my eyes dude," kole said, yet richie shoved the note into her hands.

rolling her eyes, kole straighten the note before reading what it said. p.s im never going to tell you but im falling in love with you.

"what makes you think this is about me?" kole sighed, biting her lip as she folded the note back up.

"because of the angel wings doodled on the back of it," richie grinned, unfolding the paper.

"there weren't any angel wings—"

surely enough on the back of the note were angel wings identical to koles tattoo. along with a black rose and the word always doodled across the page. kole froze. those were her tattoos. this note was meant for her. yet eddie had the intent of throwing it away.

eddie didn't think kole would ever see him more than just a friend. as he doodled on the note in math, he made the realization. so he crumbled up the note. he didn't pass a trash can on the way out of class so eddie stuck the note into his locker. pushing his feelings down.

kole sighed as she tucked the note into her pocket. now aware of the feelings both sides of the friendship. kole liked eddie. eddie liked kole. neither of them would admit it to each other.

"so?" richie pondered, slamming his locker door shut.

"so what?"

"he likes you kole," he sighed, walking along side her.

"i know."

"do you like him?"

"yep."

"wait— you do?" richie yelled out of disbelief. he stopped walking, forcing the girl to stop walking as well.

"yeah," kole admitted.

"why don't you do something about it."

"im going to hurt him rich. im no good for him," kole spoke. her eyes wore a sad glimmer. richie saw how broken she was about the subject. he knew how much eddie liked her. when kole wasn't around, eddie couldn't stop talking about the blonde. telling anyone who would listen about her. everything he liked about her.

"kole, don't think like that," richie murmured. kole readjusted her backpack, and avoided richies eye contact.

"i can't," she whispered.

"why?"

"because it's the truth," richie pushed his glasses up off the tip of his nose. he licked his dry lips.

"what do you mean?"

"i can't not think about the truth rich. i rather hurt myself than hurt him."

kole walked away from the boy. trying to dry her eyes before her next period. the yellow note card stashed away in her pocket.
