"how do i look?" richie smirked as he showed off his cap and gown. bev laughed as she walked toward him. you could see one of his many button ups under the blue silk of the gown. his curly hair was sticking from underneath of the cap.

"you're wearing that backwards," bev giggled, flipping his cap. richie playfully rolled his eyes.

"thats the style babe," richie hummed, turning his cap backwards once again. bev sighed as she walked over to bill.

"i can't believe that we are graduating," stan murmured, fixing the tie he was wearing before he zipped up his gown. "this year went by so fast."

"i know," ben smiled, tapping his foot as he glanced at the clock. "its almost 6, we should head over to the high school."

"id rather suck on eddies moms big toe than go back there. today was technically our last day," richie grumbled.

"richie stop," eddie gagged, folding his arms over his chest. "and it was.  do you want your diploma or not?"

"oo sassy eddie, im sure that's a turn on! huh kole?" richie laughed, turning his head to look at her. "kole?"

"she's not down here yet, remember?" bev muttered, "girl's gotta take some time getting pretty."

"kole doesn't need time to be pretty," eddie mumbled under his breathe. kole was perfect in his eyes. she always had been.

"you making fun of me angel?" kole came strutting down the hallway. her heels clicked on the hard wood. eddie blushed as he twisted his head to the sound of her voice.

"never—" he gulped. kole was wearing a tight fit black dress with long sleeves that hugged her curves. her shoes were plain black boots with a three or four inch heel. she had done her make up with a simmery silver smoky eye. her hair was curled at the end. it had grow out at least 7 inches and she had dyed it black not too long ago. "wow."

"holy shit, you better calm down eddie or else—" richie laughed, nudging eddies arm.

"beep beep richie," eddie growled through his clenched teeth. richie walked over to ben and mike with his hands up in surrender.

"angel?"

eddies eyes snapped back to the girl standing to his left. she had zipped her gown up and was holding her cap between her fingertips.

"y-yeah?"

"will you help me?" eddie took the cap kole was offering him and nodded. he stood from the couch he was sitting on and focused on the cap. he gently set the silky material on top of her head. "there." his eyes traveled down to koles face.

he didn't dislike makeup, but he liked koles face. all of her freckles and moles. he liked them. "you look beautiful."

"thank you babe," kole smiled, watching the boy burn red at the nickname. "we better go."

"yeah, don't wanna be late to our own graduation," mike grinned, hopping up off the couch and to the door. he held it open for everyone. until there was kole and eddie.

"we'll be right there mike," eddie sheepishly said, watching as he simply nodded and walked out of the door.

"what?" kole smiled. eddie didn't say anything but rather leaned down to koles height and kissed her gently. they pulled away only seconds later. "what's was that about?"

"i love you," he mumbled, pressing their foreheads together. kole blushed deeply, wrapping her arms around his neck. "you want to know why?"

"why?"

"i love your eyes. i love your smile and how your two bottom teeth are crooked. i love your personality and how soft your skin is. i love the way you smell and all your tattoos. your voice and the way you dress. i love every little thing about you kole," eddie babbled on for a while, swaying with kole. "but i love your lisp the most."

kole crinkled her nose up, laughing under breath. "out of everything about me, that's your favorite."

eddie nodded. a soft smile tugging at his lips. "its what makes you you."

"okay that was cute and all but i think i'm going to puke," a voice called from the front door. they turn to see richie. he is swinging car keys from his fingers as he smirks. "come on love birds, we are going to be late."

kole and eddie grabbed each other's hands and walked out of the door. "sorry," eddie laughed. richie shut the door behind them.

the three of them climbed into richies car that stan was already sitting in. richie got into the drivers seat and kole and eddie in the back. "let's get this show on the road," richie shoved the key into the ignition and raced out of koles driveway.

memories of the last year and half danced through koles head as she leaned on eddies shoulder. she never understood how she got so lucky by having eddie and the losers as her friends. everything, all the long nights talks, crazy summer day adventures, everything— had started with a simple question.

"you have a lisp?"
