Chapter 2
Sarada removed her hand from his face and mouthed something along the lines of, " we need to get out". Her followed her lead. They snuck out the back and quickly hid along the side of the tent. Sarada poked her head out and then came back. " There are two men ", she whispered quietly, " stay here", she said. " Wait ", Boruto grabbed her hand and then quickly pulled away, he blushed, " are you going to be okay?". He swore her gaze softened a little. "I'll be fine", she said and left.
Boruto peeked his head around the corner of the tent. " You know it's not polite to snoop ", said Sarada and the two men whirled around to face her. " Oh ", said the one guy, " it's just a little girl", he said, acting cocky. He and his friend laughed. " Who're you calling little girl", she shouted menacingly as she grabbed his arm and wrenched it backwards. The man howled in pain. They other guy threw kunai at her but she was to quick for them. Boruto caught a glimpse of her eyes which were now blood red. She's using her sharingan.
Wait!, he thought, what am i just standing here for?!. He looked up and saw that Mitsuki and Konohamaru had now joined in the fight, and joined too.One more guy had also come to help his criminal friends. Boruto used wind style to blow him away but he only got back up again. " stupid brat!" He yelled, " it'll take much more than that to take me down. Boruto wasn't paying attention and felt a sharp pain in his leg. He doubled over and looked down to see a kunai embedded deep into his knee. He tried to bite back from screaming in pain but couldn't help it. Sarada rushed over to him. Before he could realize what was happening, she had him in her arms and was running away from the battle.
He felt his cheeks flush again. She's way stronger than she looks, he thought. Being so close to Sarada almost made him forget the screaming pain in his knee. Sarada took him to a cave and propped him up against the wall. " why did you take me away from the battle?", he asked. " It's simple Boruto, if you're hurt, they can keep you hostage and demand things, so you'll just become a huge burden and jeopardize the mission" she said. " Brace yourself Boruto, because this is going to really hurt", he was confused until he realized that she was going to pull the kunai out. He tensed up. "Are you ready?", she asked. " Boruto bit his lip and nodded. " one, two, three!", he screamed as pain seared through his body. He fought back tears. " It's okay Boruto ", she said, " you can cry, I won't tell anyone ". He felt tears spill down his cheeks. Sarada looked at him as if not knowing how to comfort him. She then eased him into a hug. Boruto felt his cheeks get hot. She pulled away and grabbed some bandages which she started to wrap around his knee. " Y-y'know Boruto", she said, " I know it might not seem like it, but, I, care about you, a lot, your my friend", she said. She looked at him. Her deep dark eyes bore into his and his cheeks turned pink.
Without thinking, he leaned in and pressed his lips to hers. After he pulled away, he looked at her and her eyes were wide with shock. It took him a moment to realize what had just done. His eyes widened just like hers and he covered his mouth. They stared at each other for a couple, both with shocked looks on their faces. " I-I-I'm s-sorry,", he sputtered, " I don't--", his voice failed him.
