                                                                                      Chapter 13

Boruto was feeling more lethargic than usual lately. He didn't have as much anergy as he normally would. Maybe it was because it was seeing Sarada that would always make his day better, but who really knew?

It was the weekend, so he really didn't have much to do. Unless you count beating the 100th level on his video game. But he knew what Sarada would tell him if he did that. Even though she wasn't with him, he still felt like he should be productive, for her sake.

He definitely wasn't.

The best thing he could think of doing, was taking leisurely stroll through the village. He soon grew tired of this, and decided to sit down on a bench in a remote area of the city. Not  many people were around, so it was peaceful. A strange thing for Boruto to enjoy but he appreciated it.

He'd become more observant this past week. At least he thought he had. He took much more time to contemplate things, something he wouldn't naturally do. Maybe Sarada was rubbing off on him. It would make sense, seeing as she's the only thing on his mind 24/7. He really couldn't stop thinking about her. Not that this was anything new.

I guess I've always liked her, he thought, I just couldn't figure out what my feelings were. God, I'm so dense. He laughed inwardly at himself.

" What an unusual sight", a voice said from behind him, " Boruto Uzumaki being calm? I would've never thought". He already knew who it was.

" Sarada! ", he stood up immediately and went over to her. Wrapping her in a big hug, he buried his forehead into her shoulder.

"Boruto-", she said, a little shocked at his affection. She then wrapped her arms around him loosely.

" You're okay ", he said happily. Then he pulled away, blushing profusely.

He heard her giggle. " You're such a weirdo ", she said. Normally he would've taken offense at this but he'd missed her insults.

He rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment. He gazed at her for a little bit. He was ecstatic that she was out of the hospital, but showing that amount of excitement would surely be weird.

" Earth to Uzumaki?", Sarada said, waving her hand in front of his face.

" Huh?", he said stupidly.

" Huh", she mocked him in a silly voice, but she smiled. " You're always spacing out on me ", she said, " what's going on in that tiny brain of yours?".

" My brain is no- OW!", he yelped in pain as she smacked upside the head.

" That hurt!", he yelled. She smirked back at him. " You deserved it", she said," maybe it set some things right up in that empty skull".

He blushed and looked away with a scowl. His anger soon melted away as he realized that she was still good old Sarada. The Sarada that he loved.

He sat down on the bench he had been on before with an exaggerated sigh. He caught Sarada staring at him.

" Gosh, you're so dramatic", she said shaking her head.

" What's that supposed to mean? ", he asked incredulously.

She gave him a look and folded her arms in front of her chest. He gave her big smile, and she couldn't help but smile back. Boruto's cheeks turned pink.

She sat down beside him and rested her chin on her hands, gazing forwards. He couldn't help but stare. Though she didn't notice him looking at her.

He reached over and pushed her hair away from her face. She looked surprisedly at him with a small intake of breath. He tucked the hair behind her ear and traced his fingers across her cheek. He ran his thumb along her lips, and strangely, she did object. Her eyes bore into his, deep and dark, contrasting with his light blue ones. So...... pretty, he thought breathlessly.

He leaned in and kissed her softly. The second time he had ever kissed her. His hand stayed on her cheek. It was warm, and soft. She didn't pull away.

The kiss lasted only a little bit. But it didn't matter to Boruto. He'd just kissed Sarada. Again.           They pulled away. Boruto searched her eyes for some kind of anger or regret, but couldn't read them.

" I think-", Boruto started, hesitantly, " I think I love you, Sarada". She gazed at him with no response.

A soon as the words escaped his mouth he wished he could've taken them back. He clamped a hand over his mouth quickly, and blushed an unnatural red.

" Boru-", Sarada started quietly, looking slightly dazed. Her cheeks were slightly red like she couldn't quite understand what just happened.

" I've done it again!", he groaned into his hand. He stood up swiftly. " I-I'll see you around", he stuttered. He started walking  away quickly.

" Boruto wait-", Sarada started, but he was already gone. She was left blushing on the bench.

Crap. Crap, crap, crap, Boruto thought to himself in a panic. He rushed home, wasting no time on anything. His face was still beet red, and his heart beat faster than the speed of light.

When he got home, he walked stiffly up the stairs and into his room. No one was home so he didn't have to talk to anyone, which was a good thing. He slammed his door closed and collapsed onto his bed. He flexed and un-flexed his fingers over and over again out of nervousness.

I kissed Sarada, AGAIN!!, he yelled in his head, enraged, WHY!?, IM SO STUPID!. He pressed his face deep into his pillow and screamed until he couldn't scream anymore.

" Why did I do that!?!", he yelled at himself.

" WHY!?!".
