Idk I though the Gender Bend thing was cute so thats what u get today. I don't even know what that last chapter was. But here am, going on with it, AGAIN. So if there are actually people still reading this, enjoy.
Chapter 10
Boruto's eyes fluttered open. He didn't know where he was. Everything was blurry as he tried to blink the sleep out of his eyes. He was in a chair. Suddenly all the memories from the previous day came flooding back into his head.
" Good morning sleepy head", he heard a familiar voice say. Boruto looked up to see dark eyes staring back him. Sarada gave him a weak smirk. " Sarada-", his voice cracked. Before he knew it, tears were running down his cheeks. Suddenly he rushed forward and hugged her. She returned the hug, a little surprised. " I thought, y-you weren't gonna make it.", he whimpered. He hugged her tighter and trembled in her arms. " Oh, Boruto-", she searched for words but came up empty. I love you Sarada, he wanted to say, but he couldn't figure out how.
" Why?", he asked. She looked at him, confused. " Why'd you do it?", his voice quivered. He wanted to continue, but he couldn't, his voice wouldn't do what he wanted it to. " I didn't want you to get hurt.", she said simply. " I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I stood by and let my friend get injured, or die.", she looked at him, gaze unwavering. " It does hurt like hell though", she said offering a wry grin. He grimaced and glanced at her bandages. " But don't worry, I'll be fine.", she said. Boruto nodded and stood up. " Goodbye Sarada", he said, looking deep into her eyes. " Bye, Boruto", she responded. He left the hospital without saying another word.
He walked solemnly along the streets of Konoha, people bustling around him loudly. But all Boruto could think of was Sarada. She could've died, he thought, and it was all my stupid fault. He hated being so weak. If she'd died he wouldn't have known what do to with himself.
When Boruto arrived home, his mother was sitting in the living room. She offered him a sympathetic glance. " How's Sarada?", she asked. " She's awake", he responded, monotone. Hinata watched him for a second. " Are you okay Boruto?", she asked," You've been really down lately. And It's not like you to yell at your sister", she looked at him pointedly. He shrank into his jacket. " Sorry. Its just, stuff. I can't exactly explain it.", he said. She sighed, " Okay Boruto, but if you ever need to talk, you know I'm here". " Right, thanks mom", he said, before shuffling awkwardly out of the living room and up the stairs.
Boruto lay on his bed and stared dully at the wall. The picture of Sarada's bloody body kept popping into his mind. His dreams the night before had only been about her. Her bleeding. Her dying. It was horrible really. He loved her and he hated seeing her like that. Her just being in the hospital made him hurt inside. He could think of one thing better to do than think about Sarada dying. Actually he could think of a whole bunch of things, but this one was high up on his to-do list.
He knocked softly on his sisters door. " Himawari? It's Boruto, can I come in?", he asked. There was no reply so he went in anyways. Himawari was fiddling with her stuffed animals on the floor, and glared at him when he came inside. He sat down on her bed and thought of how to apologize. " Hey, I'm sorry", he froze. Crap I'm so stupid! What the hell kind of apology is that?!, he yelled in his head. He breathed in, " I'm really sorry for yelling at you Himawari. It was mean and I shouldn't have done it. You were only trying to help me", he looked up, scared to see her reaction. But her gaze had softened. " It's okay big brother, I know that you're probably in love right now like all the big kids are", she smiled innocently. What the hell did she just say!?, he asked in his head. He left the room and walked back to his. He was honestly shocked.
If only you knew how true that was Himawari....
