Osomatsu-san Oneshots (Book 3)

He is not okay (Karamatsu x reader) angst

I was making my way to visit my best friend Karamatsu. I had a day off work and we set up a day for us to hang out. Karamatsu and I have been best friends since high school. I'll admit I had a huge crush on him but he already had a girlfriend so I keep my feelings secret. Besides he seemed happy. When I got to the Matsuno house I lift my hand to knock but was surprised when Karamatsu opens the door.

"Oh y/n, Hi." He says and I smile "you ready?" I ask and he gains a nervous smile "Sorry..I meant to call you but Claire wanted to go out on a date today..sorry y/n." He says and I smile "oh Karamatsu it's fine. We can hang out another time." I say and he hums "you sure it's okay?" He asks and I lay a hand on his shoulder. "Yes, I mean Claire is your girlfriend so I'm not gonna be offended if you want to go on a date. I can just chill with your brothers till you come back." I say and he smiles before hugging me.

"Thank you for understanding." He says before pulling away and heading off. We both wave goodbye before I walk into the house. "Yo! How are my favorite boys doing?" I greet as I walk into the living room. "Oh hey y/n, weren't you going to hang out with-" "yeah but his girlfriend wanted to go out so he had to cancel. Which is fine." I say as I sat down next to Jyushimatsu.

"Gives me time to chill with you guys." I say with a smile and they smile back. "Now. Who's up for a game of mahjong?" I ask with a smirk and the were silent before nodding with smirks. This would probably be a mistake but it would be fun.

So we played mahjong and had a ton of fun. I was laughing as Ichimatsu flipped the table in frustration. "Why?! Why do you do that?! Are you a child?!" Choromatsu yells as he sets the table back and I start picking up the tiles. I stop when the front door opens and closes. I look up and catch a glimpse of Karamatsu before he runs in the direction of the bathroom.

I hum and set the tiles I collected on the table before I follow him. I hum as I saw him looking in the mirror before I walk up to him. "Karamatsu are you okay?" I ask as I lay a hand on his shoulder and he turns with a flinch. My eyes widen when I saw red mark on his cheek. "Karamatsu! What happened?!" I exclaim and he waves his hands "nothing nothing. I just-I just ran into a lamppost."

I tilt my head with a confused look "a lamppost?" I ask and he nods with a chuckle "I was so busy talking to Claire and taking in her beauty to pay attention and I slammed right into it. Yeah..but I'm okay." He says with a smile and I gave him an unsure look. He smiles and gave me a thumbs up. I smile softly before helping him with the mark.

A part of me didn't want to believe his story.

It's been about a year since then and I was over at the Matsuno brothers house again. I turn around when I here Claire and Karamatsu return from their date. "Oh hi Karamatsu." I greet when I saw them and he hums while Claire seemed to pause. "Why don't you come over here and talk with us?" Osomatsu says and Karamatsu looks at Claire while Claire stares at me. "Sure. Come on Karamatsu." Claire says before both of them walk over.

Karamatsu sat next to me and Claire clears her throat. Karamatsu glances up before silently scooting over to have her sit between us. I hum and smile as I extend a hand "hi I don't think we've properly been introduced. I'm y/n, I'm a friend of the brothers." I say and she looks at my hand "yeah, I'm Claire." She says before turning to the brothers so I slowly drop my hand with a soft okay.

"So how long has she been a friend?" Claire asks and the brothers hum "it's been a while. We've known her since high school." Todomatsu says and she hums before turning to Karamatsu "Do you know how long?" She asks and Karamatsu hums as he glances around "well..it's been about 10 years.." he says softly which I thought was strange. "Hm. So y/n?" Claire says turning to me and I hum.

"So you've known these guys for a while...do you have a crush on any of them?" She asks and I saw her narrow her eyes ever so slightly. "Um...yeah I guess I do." I say softly with a nervous smile and she hums "oh? Who?" She asks and I could feel tension. "Uh..I..um..I don't really want to say." I say and glance at Karamatsu. Claire hums and glances at him as well.

"Karamatsu." She says and he flinches "y-yes!" He says with a stutter and she stood up "I want to talk to you..alone." She says and he hums "oh..okay." He says and stands up before they both leave the room. I watch them leave and Karamatsu's nervousness did not go unnoticed. I turn to the brothers to see them with the same concern on their faces. "He seemed nervous." I say and they hum.

"No he seemed more scared than anything." Ichimatsu mumbles and the brothers nod with a hum. I stood up and turn to leave "I'm going to check on them." I say before making my way upstairs. When I got closer to the bedroom I heard Claire's voice. "I don't care. I don't want to see her here again." I hum and walk closer as Karamatsu spoke. "But Claire..y/n..she's my best friend. I can't just not speak to her again nor can I expect her to not come here again."

I could hear the tremble in his voice and when I open the door I was shocked to see her hit him. Not just a slap either, no she full on punched him in the face. Karamatsu covers his face and before Claire has the chance to kick him, yeah she was going to kick him, I tackle her to the ground. Of course that meant she went to hitting and slapping me but I just hit her back.

"You fucking bitch! How dare you hurt him like that!" I shout and I knew the brothers could hear as I later heard footsteps run up. As I fighting with her I saw Jyushimatsu walk over to Karamatsu and check on him. I stood up and bring my foot down onto Claire's stomach. "Let this be a lesson you bitch." I say with a low tone as she clutches her stomach with a whimper.

"Ichimatsu. show her the door." I say and he nods with a scowl "gladly." He says lowly before roughly pulling her up and dragging her down stairs. I turn to Karamatsu and saw a bruise forming on the side of his face. "Guys. Can you leave me alone to speak with Karamatsu?" I ask and they all nod before leaving the room. I turn to Karamatsu who was avoiding my gaze.

"Karamatsu." I say and he hums "y-yeah." He says and I walk over to gently hold his face in my hands. "I'm not mad but why didn't you tell me?" I ask and he glances up at me with teary eyes. "I couldn't...I tried but I couldn't..I hated how she would treat me and I stayed anyway...I guess I was afraid of what she'd do if I broke up with her...I wish I had." He says and I sigh "oh Karamatsu. You and me both. I had no idea she would abuse you like that...how often would she?"

"Whenever I made her upset or angry...whenever I talked about you or hung out with you...so pretty often." He says as a few tears left his eyes. I pull him into a hug and he hugs me tightly with a shaky sigh. "Oh y/n...I made such a mistake." He mumbles and I hum as he pulls away "I made a mistake choosing to date her...when there was a better option." He says and I hum "What better option?" I ask and he reaches his hand out to hold mine.

"I should have chosen you."

I blush and stare at him surprised before I smile. "Well" I pause to interlock my hand with his and he blushes softly "it's not too late...you can still choose me..if you want me." I say and he smiles shyly "would that be okay?" He asks and I lean in with a smile "yes." I say softly and he leans in "then...will you be mine?" He asks and I smile before kissing him softly. He squeaks slightly before humming as he kisses me back.

I pull away and he smiles before laying his forehead on mine. "Thank you y/n..thank you." He says softly and I smile before hugging him tightly "no need to thank me Karamatsu." I say and he hums before hugging me back.

For as long as I live I would never let anyone hurt Karamatsu like that ever again.
