As Riel walked up to the steps and toward the door, he turned called out to her. "Training tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. Sharp. Someone will come and fetch you. And for your sake, wear something more sensible."

Once the princess had left, he mentally kicked himself. He was supposed to be showing her the powers of the dark side, not driving her further away from it. He had let his distaste of her get the better of him. He had to mend things with her, but this was not the time. It was getting late and he had a training session with the princess early the next morning.

Ren lay in his bed, his eyes closing on another day and opening to another night of nightmares. Ever since he had joined the First Order, Ren had been plagued by awful dreams of what he had done. His most recent night terror had been of Rey. How he had failed her. How she had died because of him.

Throughout the night, Ren had woken up several times, and finally, he gave up on sleep altogether. He paced his room, not quite sure what to do with himself. He could go and train, but Snoke had specifically told him to never leave the princess unattended, so that idea was out of the question.

Ren knew that there was a guard posted outside of her quarters, preventing her from going anywhere, but he didn't fully trust one measly guard against the princess. It was true that she couldn't control her powers, but that didn't mean that they weren't there.

In the back of his mind, Ren checked on the princess, making sure that she hadn't escaped. She was asleep. He breathed out a sigh of relief. If anything happened to her, he would never hear the end of it from Snoke.

Ren stood up and paced his room.

How was he supposed to train the princess? He thought back to his time at the Jedi Academy, something that he found himself thinking about quite often recently. He couldn't help but remember how Luke Skywalker, his own uncle had attempted to murder him. How he had stood over Ren's bed in the middle of the night, with his lightsaber ignited. Immediately afterwards, Ren had sought out Supreme Leader Snoke. From that day forward, he had been apart of the dark side and he had no intention of ever leaving.

Since joining the First Order, Ren had learned of powers he could only have ever dreamed of and now he had to show this to the princess, but there was so much light in her. That light wasn't just going to go away overnight.

After Riel had escaped Kylo Ren's quarters, she was fuming. He was so unbelievably arrogant and disrespectful. At that moment, she had wanted nothing more than to punch him square in the face. Maybe she would get the chance to at the next morning's training session.
