He didn't sleep though, the nightmares that had plagued him for months rushing back to him as soon as he laid his head down. But something was different.
A new voice had joined the chorus of screams that had always echoed in the back of the dreams.

Riel's feet thudded against the floor as she fled.
From behind her, she could hear the shouts from stormtroopers, but she didn't stop. At least, she didn't stop until she deemed what was a safe place to hide. She heard their boots pass her hiding spot and she peeked her head out. The coast was clear.
She set out again. Since she had been there for a while, Riel finally knew her way around the ship, although there were times when she would get lost. As she wandered aimlessly through the hallways, she noticed that they were empty. It was strange that there was no one around. There should have been at the very least a guard posted at a certain point, but nothing. Since there wasn't anybody in sight, Riel was free to walk about without having to be sneaky.
She let out a sigh.
For nearly two whole hours, Riel had been forced to run drills that were supposedly building up her strength, but all that had built up was her pain and need for water. It was tiring, physically and mentally, and when she had asked to take a break, all she had gotten in response was a scoff. She had been tempted to strangle the soldier carrying out her training, but she held herself back. General Hux was already breathing down her neck, waiting for her to slip up, just as she had a few weeks prior.
From the few unpleasant encounters she had with him, she knew that he hated her. He wanted her off that ship, even more than Kylo Ren did, but Riel would never give him the satisfaction of throwing her out. So she kept her cool and diligently followed every order she received.
Until she had run away from training.
There was no doubt that she would hear from the general soon enough.
After walking for a while more, Riel at long last found someone. It was just a stormtrooper, but maybe they knew why there was no one in the hallways.
"Where is everyone?" She asked, but the soldier didn't respond.
She huffed, but she didn't give up. "Where is everyone?" This time, she attempted to do the mind trick that she had seen Kylo Ren use so many times before by putting a little more force into her words.
It seemingly worked as the soldier spoke. "Follow me." Came their voice from underneath the helmet.
Riel had no idea where she was being taken so she quickly probed their mind. She did not want to be taken back down to the holding cells again. It was nearly blank, except for one thought. They were taking her to the command deck.
