IT WAS A COLD cold day, new town, new home, new school madison winters had just moved into a new home with her father. "miles look! we have new neighbors just a few houses down the street!" flora his younger sister had said happily. "they look nice." flora smiled kindly. "flora, you know we can't trust neighbors." miles said sternly glancing from his algebra text books looking at her. "i know." flora said sadly. all she wanted was a friend in this lonely, boring town. "flora, don't be sad." miles sighed feeling like a dick for making his sister pout. flora was the only thing he cared about in this wicked, evil world. everyone else in the world he couldn't care less about. he was good at hiding his emotions.

"miles." flora whined walking over to him tugging his arm. "can we please go talk to them?" she begged. "and afterwards we don't have to talk to them anymore if you don't wanna!" flora begged. "alright, alright. we'll go after i finish my homework." miles said giving her a small smile. "yay! thank you!" flora smiled happily hugging him tightly before running off in the significantly large house. she carried this creepy bear with her that miles made for her a couple years back after their parents death. it made it easier for flora when miles wasn't around because of that creepy bear he made for her.

the two children didn't have any friends, they had a hard time making them because the death of their parents. they often got made fun of it, some people even said they murdered them. they made their way out of the house making their way to the new neighbors down the street. they saw a girl carrying a couple of boxes and she stopped as she saw them pass by.

"oh, hi. can i help you?" the girl asked. "we just wanted to say hi." flora smiled kindly. "i'm flora and this is my brother miles." flora smiled and miles looked at her blankly. "its nice to meet you, im madison." the girl said quietly giving them a small smile. "do you wanna be our friend?" flora asked kindly. "sure, I'd love to be your friend." madison smiled softly at the girl. "madison! get in here! who the hell is at the door?!" a male voice yelled scaring madison a bit. "i have to go. it was nice meeting you." madison said softly before bringing the boxes into the house slamming the door shut.

miles clenched his fists as he heard how she was spoken to, he already could tell what was going on. "he's a bad man, isn't he?" flora asked miles referring to the voice that called her inside. "yeah, he seems like he's not a nice guy. but, it's not our business flora. let's go home." miles said softly. flora just nodded her head walking beside miles walking back home.

"who was at the door?" madison's drunk father asked. "it was our neighbors, just wanted to say hi." madison said as she put down the box she was carrying. "i saw you talking to a boy." her father said sternly. "i was talking to his sister, they were just being nice." madison said softly. "i don't want you talking to boys, remember what happened back home?" her father said as he came closer to her.

madison scrunching up her face as she smelt the alcohol in his breath."yes, i remember." madison said nodding her head. "i don't want them to hurt you, understand?" her father said sternly. "nod if you understand!" he yelled making madison nod her head vigorously. "good. now go put these boxes upstairs." her father said. madison just sighed doing so heading up the stairs. "kill me." madison muttered under her breath. after madison put the boxes away she went into her room locking it grabbing a blindfold and her stereo.
