MADISON GROANED AS SHE was tied up with weird gadgets and wires attached to her head. "we're going to ask you one more time." the man said calmly. "where did the monster come from?" the man asked madison kept her mouth shut as the man told the others to increase the pain levels. "AHH!" madison screamed in pain. "i-i don't know. i don't know where it came from." madison groaned. "it was some kind of demon that attaches to you and take over your mind." madison said quickly causing the men to turn off the machine. "how did you stop it?" the man asked. "w-we killed it with fire." madison lied. "are you sure about that?" the man asked. "yes." madison said softly.

"did you see where she was?" haley asked miles. "not sure. it kinda looked like some sort of lab." miles said. "a lab? why would a lab be here?" alex asked. "don't know, but that's what i saw." miles said. "and you're a hundred percent sure it was her?" haley asked. "yeah. it was her." miles said. "i think i know a place that can help us." haley said as she grabbed her bag as miles followed her out. "babysit flora til we get back." miles said. "what?! c'mon!" alex groaned. "if anything happens to her I'll fucking kill you." miles spat before leaving the house.
"so are you gonna tell me where we're going?" miles asked as he followed haley. "you'll find out once we get there." haley said as she got in the car. "i hate when you don't tell me things." miles sighed as he got in. "I know. i just like pissing you off." haley smiled. "the monster should've eaten your arm off." miles joked weakly. "just shut up or ill run you over with the car." haley spat causing miles to roll his eyes. "you're so boring." miles groaned. "and you're an asshole. i guess we both established what we agree on." haley spat as she paid attention to the road.
"don't touch that." haley spat. "touch what?! i'm not touching anything!" miles spat annoyingly. "you're breathing on the window!" haley exclaimed. "so what am i not supposed to breathe?" miles said. "just please shut up!" haley exclaimed. "you started it!" miles spat causing haley to step on the breaks violently causing miles to hit his head. "OW WHAT THE FUCK?!" miles exclaimed. "get out. we're here." haley spat as she got out of the car.
miles groaned as he followed her out the car. "i thought we were looking for madison." miles said as they made their stop at the library. "if you wanna find madison we have to find out where this lab thing is." haley said as they walked in. haley quickly made her way to the back looking for old information catching the eyes of another red head. miles groaned as he lost track of haley as he made his way around the library hoping to find something that can lead him to her. "The Fall of Starcourt." haley read to herself as she looked through old newspapers.
the sound of shuffling caused haley to turn, seeing the red headed girl stare at her. "can i help you?" haley asked the girl. "s-sorry. i just saw you walk in and i wanted to see if you needed any help." the girl said nervously. "im sydney by the way. i work here." sydney smiled.
"i'm haley." haley smiled. "actually, i was trying to look for something." haley said. "yeah, sure what is it?" sydney asked. "i was trying to look for some information on an abandoned lab." haley said. "what for?" sydney asked. "uh, ah- a school project." haley said nervously. "cool. follow me." sydney smiled as she grabbed haley's hand leading her to another room. "i know a bunch of stuff about what you're researching." sydney smiled. "so, you know where this lab is?" haley asked. "well, do you know about Starcourt?" sydney asked. "yeah." haley nodded.
"well, back then there was a secret lab built underneath it." sydney said as she showed her pictures of it. "that's why it shut down." haley said. "yep. people would say there would be like evil russians or some other bullshit but kids started going missing ever since they went to Starcourt." sydney said. "i-is it still there?" haley asked.
"who knows? there was a huge fire, so most of the building might be burnt down." sydney shrugged. "do you mind if i take some of this with me?" haley asked. "i will give them back as soon as i'm done." haley said. "y-yeah. that's cool." sydney said. "thanks so much." haley said grabbing the papers and putting them into her bag before rushing out the room. "where the hell is he?" haley muttered underneath her breath as she was looking for miles.
meanwhile, miles was walking around the library basically doing nothing. "can i help you with anything?" a boy asked. "no thanks. i didn't come to read." miles said not even looking at the boy. "then why are you here?" the boy spat. "why were you following me for five minutes?" miles spat back. "i wasn't following you." the boy spat causing miles to turn his head. "stanley, is it?" miles said as he walked closer to him. "it's best for you to mind your business." miles said before pushing past him making his way towards the front.
"jesus, there you are." haley said. "what the hell is that?" miles asked as he looked at her bag. "our ticket to finding madison." haley whispered. "got everything?" sydney asked looking at the two. "uh, yeah." haley said. "your boyfriend looks tense." sydney said looking at miles. "he's not my boyfriend." haley said. "sorry. just assumed." sydney chuckled causing miles to roll his eyes.
"thanks again for the help." haley smiled. "yeah. anytime." sydney smiled. "see ya." haley waved grabbing miles's hand pulling him out. "ow! don't touch me." miles groaned snatching his hand from her causing her to smack his head as they exited the library. "you're such a brat." haley spat as she got back in the car. "that girl likes you." miles said. "hmm?" haley said. "that girl. she seems to like you." miles said. "thanks but i'm not looking for someone right now. we're looking for madison. not another problem." haley sighed.
miles and haley finally returned to the house causing alex to sigh in relief. "you guys took forever." alex groaned. "you're doing babysitting duty next. i'm done." alex said as he laid back on the couch. "where's flora?" miles asked. "she's sleeping in her room." alex said. "so, what did you find on your little adventure?" alex smiled.
"we went all the way across town for this." haley said as she placed the papers on the table. "Starcourt?" alex said in confusion. "what about it?" alex asked. "this is where madison is." haley said. "why would she be at Starcourt? that place burned down like 3 years ago." miles said. "before all of this, there was this secret lab built underneath." haley started. "apparently, kids would disappear at the Starcourt mall and get taken to this lab." haley explained. "so, you're saying madison has been taken to this lab?" miles said.
"i mean, it makes sense." alex said. "yeah, but how do we find the lab?" miles asked. "i think i know someone who can help us." haley said.
