THE TWO TEENS made out passionately in madison's new bedroom as the door was shut tightly. the two were soon interrupted by a knock on the door by madison's new brother. "mads! dinners ready!" steve said on the other side of the door. "b-be right there!" madison exclaimed. "do you have to go?" miles groaned. "yes. i do. now go." madison chuckled as she rushed him out her window. "wait." miles stopped her. "what?" she asked before he pulled her into a quick kiss before getting out the window. "bye." miles smiled. "bye." madison said softly.
"i'll see you tomorrow. first thing." miles smiled from below. madison smiled waving goodbye before shutting her window. "dude, what's taking so long?" steve asked causing madison to roll her eyes and open the door. "ever heard of changing?" madison spat as she moved past him. "you could've just told me that." steve mumbled as they made their way down the stairs.
it's been 8 months since madison's escape. she got adopted into the richest family in town and has been surrounded by a loving family ever since. well, at least that's what other people thought. the only one who cares about her besides miles is steve. "thinking about going out with haley to the mall?" her mother asked trying to start a conversation as they ate their pasta. "uh, no. she's busy." madison said softly. "actually, have steve take you to the mall." their mother suggested causing steve to choke on his food. "sorry what?" steve said calming down.
"you heard your mother. take her to the mall. maybe get a job while you're at it." his father spat causing madison to chuckle a bit. "you think this is funny you lil shit?" steve spat as he threw his napkin at madison causing her to laugh even more. "hey! language!" their mother spat.
"hey! it's not funny." her father said. "just a little bit." madison smiled as her laughter slowly died down causing steve to give her a small smile. "just letting you know, i do have a job." steve mumbled. "yeah, you scoop ice cream and get paid 2 bucks an hour." madison said causing steve to shush her. "she said what?" their father spat. "she's joking." steve said nervously. steve turned his head towards her mouthing "tell them you're joking!" "i was joking. obviously he doesn't work there. he's too useless for that." madison joked causing steve to roll his eyes.
"alright, alright. enough. eat your dinner." their mother said. "you're doing dishes tonight." madison said to steve. "i did them last night." steve said. "no you didn't. i did." madison said. "steve, listen to your sister." their father groaned. "what?! that's not fair!" steve exclaimed. "good luck big brother." madison smiled as she pat his head causing him to smack her hands away from his head.
"hey! hey! not the hair!" steve exclaimed causing madison to giggle. "god you're so annoying." steve sighed. "yeah, yeah whatever. you love me." madison smiled as she stacked up the plates before heading upstairs. "goodnight!" steve shouted. "night!" madison shouted back before closing her door shut.

"why are we still investigating this? it's been 8 months since they've left." alex said as he stood between the two red heads. "we have to make sure they're gone for good." haley said. "especially since they've re-opened Starcourt." sydney said. "exactly." haley added. "but it's summer! shouldn't we be hanging out at the arcade with miles and maddie?" alex groaned. "no. they shouldn't be involved in this. they've been through too much." haley said softly. "this is between us. and us only." sydney said. "yeah. okay." alex said softly.
"d-do you guys maybe wanna play d&d?" will asked the group nervously causing the trio to turn their full attention towards him. "what?" sydney said confused. "it's a board game." alex said. "uh, sorry. we're kinda busy." haley said softly. "oh, uh that's okay. i'll leave you guys alone." will said as he began to walk away. "I-i'll play with you." alex said causing will to turn around.
"r-really?" will smiled. "uh yeah. sure." alex smiled. "what are you doing?" haley whispered. "you guys can go ahead and do whatever you guys want. i am going to play d&d with my new friend." alex said as he made his way towards will. "a-are you sure you don't wanna stay with your friends?" will whispered. "yep." alex whispered. "yeah, have fun." sydney said before they began to walk away. "what's your name again?" alex asked will. "uh, it's will. will byers." will said softly. "you?" will asked.
"alex. and it's not short for anything so don't ask." alex said as they made their way sitting at a table. will chuckled softly giving him a small smile. "have you played before?" will asked. "uh, yeah. but i didn't really have other people to play with." alex said softly as he helped will set up the board game.
"same." will added. "so, what are you?" alex asked. "oh, i'm a wizard." will said. "how bout you?" will asked. "i'm a paladin." alex said. "i'll have you go first." will said as he handed alex the pair of dice. alex rolled through dice in his hand before letting it roll onto the table. "in order to defeat the demogorgon you'd have to roll-" "a 13 or higher, i know." alex chuckled. the two looked at the dice as it stopped showing a 13. "woo!" alex cheered. "are you gonna cast fireball or protection?" will asked.
"fireball." alex answered. "the monster roars in anger! burning in pain by your fireball!" will exclaimed. "cast another fireball in order to defeat the demogorgon for good!" will cheered. alex grabbed the dice rolling it again. the two dice rolled over the table causing the two to look for it. "where'd it go?" will asked. "i don't know!" alex exclaimed. "wait i think i found it!" alex exclaimed as he grabbed the dice.
"what's it say?" will asked. "i got a 7." alex sighed. "7 doesn't count. which means i win!" will smiled. "yeah. good game." alex smiled. "wanna maybe play at the arcade sometime?" will asked. "and play what games?" alex asked. "dig dug. or if you'd like dragon's lair. oh! and uh, street fighter. you seem like the type to play street fighter." will smiled. "how'd you know?" alex chuckled. "just a lucky guess." will smiled.
