"I'M SORRY, WHY DO you need me again?" sydney asked. "we need to get to that lab." haley said. "f-for what exactly?" sydney asked. "we believe that there is bad people trying to kill someone we know." alex said. "so you want me to guide you through a guarded secret facility and die?" sydney said. "pretty much." alex said causing haley to shove him. "please, someone we know is in there. at least we think she's in there." haley begged. "w-we need to find her before they kill her." miles said. "follow me." sydney said as she led them into a room closing the door. "if you wanna get in, you need to get in through the vents." sydney said as she placed blueprints on the table.
"great. we'll get in and sneak through the vents." haley said. "it's not that easy. you need someone extremely small to fit into those vents." sydney said. "i volunteer alex to do it." miles joked causing alex to shove him. "what the hell man?" alex scoffed. "what? you're like a marshmallow. you'd fit perfectly." miles joked weakly. "think smaller." sydney said. "are you sure there isn't another way in?" haley asked.
"nope. sorry." sydney sighed. "who's that small?" alex asked. "unless.." haley said looking at miles referring to flora. "no. no fucking way. she's not getting involved in this shit." miles spat. "who's he talking about?" sydney whispered to haley. "his sister." haley said. "we're not risking flora." miles spat. "she's the only chance we got. plus once she lets us in, alex takes her home safely and she'll be safe." haley said. "if she gets involved in this shit again, I'll fucking kill you." miles spat. "all we need to do is make sure flora knows the plan." haley said.

"you got it?" sydney asked flora as she just finished explaining the dangerous plan. "do i get candy out of this?" flora asked. "sure, whatever." sydney said. "then yes." flora smiled. "when we do this plan, we need you to stay on the walkie talkie with us." haley said softly. "and once you're out of the vents we need you to press a red button that says 'open'. then you can go home and eat whatever candy you want." alex said. "yay!" flora smiled. "i gotta go left, right, left, left, right and left." flora repeated. "yes." sydney nodded.
"and this is a secret operation. make sure you don't get caught." haley said. "so it's a mission and i'm a spy?" flora smiled. "mm-hm. and if you need help just scream and we'll come get you." haley smiled. "okay, i understand." flora said softly causing miles to sigh heavily. "don't give me a panic attack." miles said softly as he gave her a tight hug giving her a kiss on the head.
"stay safe okay?" miles said. "i promise." flora said giving miles a hug. "i love you." miles smiled. "i love you too." flora smiled. "the most important thing is don't get lost and stay on the line with us. okay?" sydney said. "okay." flora said softly. "if anything happens to her i'll fucking kill you." miles whispered to sydney. "he's not kidding." alex whispered to sydney. "is that supposed to be a threat?" sydney smiled. "if anything happens to my sister, I will fucking kill you with my bare hands and bury you alive." miles spat. "don't say anything else." haley said stepping in between the two.
"miles, go wait upstairs. alex you go with him." haley said causing miles to groan. "are you gonna tell her everything?" alex asked. "maybe." haley said. "we don't even know if we can trust her." alex spat. "i'll handle it." haley said. "alright." alex sighed. "c'mon flora let's go get some candy." alex said leading flora upstairs.
"why does he hate me so much?" sydney asked. "miles, is- he's just like that." haley mumbled. "what happened to him?" sydney asked. "it's a long story.." haley sighed. "well, i'm here to listen." sydney said softly.
after haley explained everything haley sighed in relief. "wow." sydney said. "yeah." haley huffed. "great story." sydney said causing haley to look up. "what?" haley spat. "it was a really good story. but i really don't like the part about the shadow monster." sydney said. "or the fact that your "friend" madison has powers." sydney added. "wait, you don't believe me?" haley spat. "was i supposed to?" sydney laughed. "i'm telling the truth!" haley exclaimed. "no you're not. you guys are crazy. there's no such things as monsters!" sydney exclaimed. "or superpowers!" sydney added.
"we can prove it to you." haley said. "how?" sydney asked. "m-madison. you bring us to Starcourt, we find her, we get out. that's all." haley begged. "please. we can't lose her." haley begged. "just stick to the plan. then we'll get out alive." sydney said. "yeah. got it." haley nodded.
"you girls done yet?" alex said as he came down the stairs. "yeah." haley stood up. "let's do this." flora said as she was wearing a mask. "flora, what are you wearing?" miles asked. "it's a mask. so they won't see my face." flora said. "you don't need that." miles said as he took the mask off her face. "did it make me look scary?" flora asked. "no, it didn't." alex said. "i'll take my candy." flora pouted as she stuck her hand out. alex sighed pulling out the candy he saved for her handing it to her.
"sweet-tarts really?" flora spat causing alex to gasp. "you can do better." flora said. "really?" alex spat. alex groaned pulling out more candy out of his pocket throwing it at her face. "that's better." flora smiled. "that's way too much candy." miles said. "what? she needs her energy." alex said causing haley to roll her eyes.
"let's go over the plans one more time." sydney said. "we sneak through the back into the mall into this specific shop." sydney said pointing at the blueprints. "scoops ahoy? never heard of it." alex said. "it's an old ice cream shop." sydney said. "why do we have to go there? aren't there other shops we can sneak through?" miles asked. "nope. trust me. the vents from this shop lead all the way to our destination." sydney said.
"but, we need someone to get rid of the guards." sydney said. "i'll handle that." miles said causing the three to look at him. "are you sure? you never even won a fight?" alex laughed. "you wanna test that theory?" miles spat as he raised his fists. "i'll go with miles. alex, sydney and flora will sneak into the shop and make their way through the vents." haley said.
"bring your bat with the nails. we're gonna need that." miles added.
