APHMAU'S POV

Aphmau's ears were ringing.

She groaned softly as she sat up. Beside her, she could faintly see a mop of blonde hair outlined in the cloud of dust. A few seconds later, the shape moved as well, scrambling to their feet and then promptly falling over.

"Levin?" She asked softly.

"Yep. It's me." He replied, looking in her direction with wide blue eyes.

The dust began to clear, revealing Alina, Lilith and Malachi all propped up on rocks. They were talking quietly amongst each other. She was momentarily surprised by the stark lack of dust on their clothing, before realising that most of it probably went through them. As she watched, she saw Alina and Lilith's hands pass right through each other, and Malachi's leg accidentally slip in and out of a boulder.

Aphmau didn't have time to contemplate their ghost-ness before a rather horrifying sight came into view.

A figure she now recognised as the Demon Warlock was hovering in the air, staring down at Lizzie, Jasper and Willow.

Instinctively, she lunged towards them, only to have Alina pull her back. It was probably the smart thing, as there was no way Aphmau had a chance against the Demon Warlock, but that didn't stop her from wanting to help.

Alina, Lilith, Levin and Malachi held back too. She caught several reluctant glances between them, realising that they probably could properly wield weapons or use magic, in Alina's case, in their current forms.

Instead, they huddled behind a cluster of rocks. They were close enough to clearly see and hear everything, so it probably wasn't an effective hiding place, but the Demon Warlock seemed preoccupied with the others at the moment.

"You must have been stupider than I thought to summon me," He laughed, "Or just desperate."

"I'm not stupid, nor am I desperate." Lizzie dismissed, "You, on the other hand, are both of those things."

"No, I'm not!" the Demon Warlock snarled, all his attention on Lizzie now, which the twins quickly took advantage of, "I'm all mighty, I'm powerful! Now that your darling sister is gone, I am the greatest being in existence! And this world will fall to me - all worlds will fall to me!"

"Talk about cliche." Lizzie said, rolling her eyes.

"What?"

"World domination, it's always world domination. Why can't you villains ever think of anything original? Anything creative? It's getting a tad boring."

"I'm not like other villains."

"Now you just sound like every moody teenager ever." Lizzie sighed.

Aphmau stifled a giggle. Even though it was clear - to her at least - that Lizzie was just stalling, as Willow and Jasper set up something in the space Alina identified as containing the portal, it was still fun to watch.

And definitely surreal, once she remembered that one of them was her immortal, divine 'sister', and the other was the Demon Warlock, who was possessing one of her oldest friends.

"I'm not a mood teenager!"

"Well, you're not doing much to make me think otherwise."

"Oh yeah? Well, you need me. You can't get rid of me."

"I can and I will. I don't need you - no one needs you. Your own son killed you."

The Demon Warlock roared at that.

"You need me! You need me to bring them back! You need me! It's why you brought me back!"

Lizzie almost seemed to recoil at that.

"Wrong. I need your power - not you."

Aphmau frowned in confusion, because there was clearly something that Lizzie was neglecting to tell her, but that would have to wait until they weren't in danger.

The Demon Warlock swooped lower, hovering in front of her.

"And how are you planning on getting that, huh?" He growled.

Lizzie glanced up briefly, meeting the eyes of the twins - of whom Willow looked rather bewildered - before replying.

"Like this."

Before he had a chance to turn around, they had begun chanting. He went to move his arms, likely to perform some sort of spell, but froze, his eyes widening, and began to shriek. He plummeted to the ground, the thump echoing throughout the small ravine.

They began to close in, their chanting growing louder in time with his screaming. Aphmau stared at it in slight horror. She didn't want to imagine what he was feeling. Not that she felt sorry for him, but she didn't want to know what kind of pain could make someone of his statute scream like that

Once they had enclosed him, his body began to glow, purplish wisps drifting from his body and into the necklace on Lizzie's necklace.

Aphmau felt kind of embarrassed that she hadn't noticed it before, although it was definitely something from Willow's bag of dark objects.

The Demon Warlock fought at first, but he seemed to give up after a while, his cries quieting and his body going limp.

It got to the point where Aphmau was concerned for Travis, but just as she was about to voice her concerns, the chanting changed. She watched in awe as the shadow of the Demon Warlock rose from Travis' body, leaving him seemingly unconscious, but otherwise unharmed.

A rush ran up her spine and the whole ravine seemed to shiver as a swirling dark portal opened.

The Demon Warlock seemed to be sucked in, the portal closing in on itself once he was gone, the world quieting as Lizzie fell to the ground.
