(Val's pov)

The flight felt like ten years, but really it was eight or so hours.

My siblings and mom slept though it, I couldn't because there was too much on my mind

Too much

I've had tests done before, but these are supposed to be more dangerous.

Higher risks, but higher chances of helping.

Over the PA: "We are now entering Los Angeles, California."

I slightly shove my little brothers shoulder to wake him.

We took the overnight flight because it would probably be easier on my siblings, they'd just sleep it though.

It was nearly three in the morning when we arrived.

My mom had woken up from the announcement, so she began waking up my sister.

I looked outside the window watching us drift down onto the ground.

Eventually it was time to get into the airport and find rides.

All four of us walked together and got into a taxi to take us to the hotel.

My eyes slowly drifted off

"Valia"

"Val"

"Val we're here, it's time to get up." My mother said as she shook my shoulder

I grabbed my bag and got out of the car

The hotel was big, seemed expensive.

Probably was, the house my mom got wasn't ready yet.

It would be done in two days or so

"Let's go darling." My mother said as she grabbed my hand

When we got inside she started talking to the lady at the desk, she finally got the keycard and we went into the elevator.

Finally we made it into the room, the kids started running around the large room.

The room was decently sized, enough room for four beds, a private kitchen, and a bathroom.

I'm guessing she paid extra for the kitchen area, most hotels I've been don't have one.

_______

Laila and Jack finally laid down again for bed.

"Sweetie, we need to go over the schedule for the next few weeks." My mother quietly said

She's always been very organized, she probably has a disorder or something because if one thing is out of place.

She well freaks out.. she's big on time management or maybe it's a mother thing

"Okay sure." I whispered as I walked towards her bed

"Tomorrow you have your first appointment with your doctor, nothing is happening but you're just meeting him."

"He already understands your condition so we don't have to go over that, I've already talked to him over the phone about it."

"You'll have to explain a few things and he'll ask some questions to better understand from your point of view."

she paused

"I've already found the kids their new school, they start in a few days."

"But I thought we would go sightseeing around, find some cool places or something."

"Yeah that sounds good mom, what time is the appointment?" I asked

"About two or three , I'll recheck the calendar I made and make sure it is." She responded

"But we'll have to leave an hour early, I'm unsure of how traffic is here." She said

"Can we get In N out Burger tomorrow? My internet friend that lives here said it's amazing." I asked

"We'll see, depending on if the doctor wants you on certain foods or if it's too unhealthy."

"I don't want anything to make you sick somehow." She responded

I was slightly disappointed but I know she cares.

"I'm going to bed ma, I'll be up at 10 to get ready." I said

It was already 4 in the morning, only six hours.

I should've slept on the plane but I couldn't.

I won't lie, I'm worried about what's going to happen.

Now that I'm actually here, it's more real and scarier.
