(Val's pov)

"Y-you met someone?" I asked

"No I didn't."

"But I don't want to ruin the opportunity to meet someone by waiting here with you." He said

A/N: ok the way I wrote that, it made nick seem so mean but he didn't mean it in that way and Val didn't take it personally.

"I don't want to ruin our friendship." I said

"Okay." He said

I'm not sure what I expected, maybe I hoped he would fight a bit more.

But I can't expect him to do that, it's probably best we don't get together

"Okay." I said

"I should probably get going, it's getting late." He mumbled

I nodded and hugged him quickly

"Please don't let things become awkward between us." I whispered in his ear

we let go and he walked out of my bedroom.

I could hear him talking to my mom before leaving the house.

I felt numb almost, did I do the right thing?

I'm not sure what the people I've met because of him will think about me, will I be the bad person in this?

I really cherish my friendships I've made, I don't want to lose them.

I needed a distraction so I posted some drafts of me dancing on tiktok.

I decided to finally go downstairs and see what mom was doing.

"Hey sweetie, why didn't you walk nick out?" She asked as I walked into the living room

"I had a headache, I said bye upstairs." I mumbled

"Oh, well I like that kid."

"He's very nice and I think you two would be cute together." She said

"No time for relationships when death is knocking at my door." I said sarcastically

"Very funny Valia." She mumbled

"I try." I said before going upstairs

I could hear Laila singing from her room

I walked Into her bedroom and she was making a video.

"Tiktok?" I asked

She giggled before saying "yeah but I don't post my videos."

"You should, want me to be in a video?" I asked

"Sure!" She said as she dragged my arm

We filmed a couple videos and I made her post a few.

She doesn't know that I have a tiktok, so I finally showed her it

"You're famous!" She screamed

"I guess.." I mumbled

"Almost a million followers I think! you have videos with charli." She yelled

"Yeah." I laughed

"Hey! Why didn't you show me it earlier?" She said angrily

"I'm not sure, I was a bit embarrassed but I had no reason to be." I said

"Do you think I can be famous too?" She asked

"Of course I do, you're funny and you have amazing dance skills." I said

"I never want you to leave me, you'll be here forever right?" She asked

Mom hasn't told them about my condition, they don't know the severity of it.

She always makes some dumb excuse as to why I'm in the hospital, I hate lying to them but maybe it's for the best.

Well for now at least.

"I can't promise forever but I'll try my hardest." I said as I hugged her

"Let's go make jack be in a video with us!" She excitedly yelled

"Not doing it." Jack said from his room

We laughed before running towards his room.

Sometimes it's easier to live in blissfully ignorance for awhile, ignoring my problems and acting like a kid.

A/N:

I do realize that this chapter is one of my shortest, but I honestly just wanted a quick update.

Do y'all prefer shorter but more interesting or longer but maybe a bit more boring.

Longer chapters are really just fillers, they don't have too much to them.

Yes some of my long chapters are interesting and keep you on the edge of your seat, but I'm talking about the ones where nothing can really happen.

Like this one, if I continued it then I'd probably have her play with her siblings more then get ready to sleep.

Idk I wouldn't want to read that, so I won't force you to lol.

I haven't really updated in a bit, sorry for that.

It's actually almost 4am rn so I'm gonna go to sleep.

But my story has kinda blew up a bit, hopefully will continue xd
