Jacks POV
Me and the boys decide to go see what’s taking Rhianna so long. As we walk in we see Cam cradling Rhianna on the ground. I give them a confused and sympathetic look. Rhianna just ignores our presence and clings onto Cam.
“What’s going on?” JJ asks. Rhianna just stares off into the distance still in Cams arms.
“Guys I have something to tell you,” he say looking down at Rhianna then back at us. “I have cancer, stage four and I only have a couple months left”
Rhianna begins to cry again. I look in between them both hoping in some way that this was all a cruel joke and that they were lying but there was no indication in any way that he was lying the only emotion written on his face was sorrow that he had to put us through this. That he’s putting Rhianna through this.
My thoughts are interrupted by Sammy.
“Is this some sort of joke because if it is it isn’t funny” Cam looks down
“I’m sorry” was all he said but it wasn’t his fault, he didn’t know this was going to happen. It wasn’t his choice.
JJ hasn’t said anything just staring emotionlessly at the ground. I put my hand on his back. He snaps out of his gaze.
Cam stands up with Rhianna still in his arms. JJ makes his way towards them and gives Cam a hug. He hugs back with one hand while the other is still around Rhianna.
Sammy goes and hugs them as well as I see their eyes water making me feel heartless for not crying.
I don’t know how I feel about this. I guess it hasn’t hit me yet that one of my best mates are dying. I just feel numb.
I’m interrupted by my thought by Rhiannas thin arms rapping around me waste. I look down at her as her tear roll down her cheek. I instantly hug back and kiss the top of her head.
“Jack, are you alright” she whispers to me as she hides her face in my chest. I don’t respond. I didn’t know if I was alright or not but having her in my arm made me feel better then I originally was.
She shouldn’t be the one making me feel better it should be the other way around. I knew Cam meant everything to her but yet she’s the one comforting me. We soon pull apart as she goes back to Cam.
“I’m gonna go home” Sammy say. Since he brought us here I guess me and JJ are going to. JJ and Sam give Cam one more hug. I walk up to him and hug him.
“I’m sorry” was all I said to him until I left.
A/N Sorry these are just the chapter where they find out so they're short but they'll obviously get longer with the next chapters
